The signing of the Golden Document between the Werfurs and a human was historic but unfortunately, it was short-lived. With its dissolution, things would change between the Werfurs and Epsilon. Nick took a deep breath as he wrapped his mind around this, but soon after, a wicked smile formed on his face.
Not surprisingly though, Nick’s smile came from his anticipation of killing many creatures and earning more experience. He liked the Werfur race but other than the superficial relationship, they did not share any deep history.
When it came to the matter and conflicts between races, the relationship between Nick and the Werfurs was not strong enough for either of them to put their relationship ahead of their race or their personal beliefs.
This concept was simple for people with life experiences to understand. This included both the Werfurs and Nick.
At some point, heavy rains had begun, and just as it was picking up pace, at the borders of Anderium forest, many magical creatures showed up.
A magical creature was not very different from ordinary creatures except that it could use magical energy. Some magical creatures were capable of using magic to improve their physical quality. Some had intelligence similar to humans such as the Werfurs and were capable of casting magic spells as well.
Some manifested basic abilities that came from magic such as fireballs and water arrows. Of course, in the army of magical creatures, there were also the undeads and other evil forces that came from a different place altogether.
Nick looked at the creatures ahead and smiled. The creatures at the border, at most, were Student 1 or Imper Level. This was nothing to be scared of, Nick thought. But little did he realize that only he was capable of this kind of thinking.
For other mages stationed on the wall, waiting for the battle to commence, this was perhaps one of the most fear-inducing moments they had ever encountered.
On the walls of Blue Empire City, there were more than 5,000 mages of different magic levels stationed and waiting for the battle to begin. This did not include the mages in the city that amounted to over 50,000. By any standard, a mage force this strong was not to be taken lightly at all. There were also the magical fighters who were 100,000 in number.
Despite their fear, they were all waiting with brave expressions on their faces.
These mages and warriors were not inexperienced; most of them were forged in battle. The matter at hand today, however, was not a fight between humans but a battle of the races. When it came to a battle such as this, the country the human belonged to was irrelevant. The only thing that mattered was that they were humans and the enemies wanted to kill their kind.
The courage of these fighters came from the fact that humans had the utmost confidence and morale in the fight against their enemies. A fight not for a royal family feud but for their race as ‘humans’, their families and everything else that made them living beings.
No mage or warrior felt the need to flee; even if they knew that there was a chance they would die in this battle, it would not change a thing.
At this time, the hordes of magical creatures began their move towards the Blue Tear City walls.
Their movement was not slow or guarded. Quite the contrary, they approached with force as their monstrous roars and screams filled the air. All humans on the wall felt their blood rushing heavier and faster, feeling the adrenalin in their veins.
Nick maintained his smiling face, as he waited for the commanders’ orders.
Nobody thought anything bad about Nick at this time. In this fight between races, they considered it normal for a mage not affiliated with the Blue Tear City to station himself on the walls and help his race.
This was another reason why humans were undefeated on most occasions. Even if they were unimaginably evil to themselves and others, so much so that other creatures could not even perceive their greed and perverseness, when it came to standing against other races, they were like fluid crystallized into a formidable force.
They grouped and fought to the death for their race.
The much-awaited order from one of the commanders on the wall finally came through at this time.
“Long-range mages, beginning killing these creatures. Fire at will!”
When the order ended, the dark night marked with a solemn rain, lit up with all kinds of colors coming from spells.
“Atttack!!!”
With a loud shout from the commander on the walls, the mages who were proficient in long-range capabilities cast their spells.
Fireballs, Water Spears, Thunderbolts, and many kinds of different spells shot up in the sky and came down on the upcoming army of creatures.
Within seconds, the ground was covered with corpses of many creatures, even the rain could not suppress the smell of blood from permeating the air.
Grand entries must hold some meaning for Nick because, at this time, he began flying closer to the enemy, drawing the surprised gazes of the mages around him. After flying a short distance, Nick whispered.
“Sonic Bullet – Machine Gun Type”
This was a new spell Nick created right now looking at the situation he was faced with. It was in his mind for a while but he created it before entering this war. A spell that lets him fire Sonic Bullets automatically and at a much faster pace, similar to a machine gun. If ordinary Sonic Bullets came from a sniper rifle, these Sonic Bullets comes from a ‘minigun’.
As Nick cast his spell, a zipping, sonic boom was heard in the sky and countless Sonic Bullets showered on the creatures, mixing in with the downpour.
“Boooom”
“Zipppppppp”
Before one could even understand the aftermath, more than 200 magical creatures were hit with bullets, dropping on the ground. Some died outright with their heads exploding, while some lost their hands or legs. Some of the animal-type creatures lost their hind legs and tried to walk on their front legs. Everything was a bloody mess. Nick, however, did not notice much of this as he did not stop for a moment. He kept raining down death on these creatures that dared to attack humans, a race that he detested but belonged to nonetheless.
