Chapter 31

Hao Ming, who was nearby, heard their conversation. He was assigned to pick the marked book by another teacher. Coincidentally, he spotted Xiao Tong and found that the atmosphere was not right.

Hao Ming stepped in and said, teacher, please give us three days to prove that Xiao Tong is innocent. If we couldn’t find any evidence that can prove Xiao Tong’s innocent, please feel free to punish her accordingly.”

Hao Ming knew that if he said so, the teacher would give a second chance to Xiao Tong. Hao Ming’s parents are top donors of the school. The teacher wouldn’t do any bad to Hao Ming and instead would try to curry his favor to get a promotion faster.

“Xiao Tong, I’m a fair person. How about this? I will give you one week to clear your innocent. If you failed to, don’t blame me for not giving you a second chance.” Said the teacher.

“Now, go back to your class.” Said the teacher.

Xiao Tong wiped her tears and asked, “Teacher, who submitted the evidence?”

“It’s anonymous.” Said the teacher and waved at them, signaling they should go back to class.

Hao Ming and Xiao Tong looked at each other. They were clueless. On their way back to class, Hao Ming asked, “Do you offend anyone?”

Xiao Tong was unsure who she had offended. She was not the previous Xiao Tong. With the previous Xiao Tong attitude of, arrogant princess, who knows how many enemies she had made?

Xiao Tong shooked her head.

“Don’t worry. Big brother will help you overcome this matter.” Said Hao Ming with assuring tone.

Suddenly, Xiao Tong recalled. “Big brother, this handwriting looks familiar. Did you recognize it? Xiao Tong asked Hao Ming while passing the exam paper to him.

Hao Ming scrutinized the handwriting and shooked his head. “How about this? Let’s collect the handwriting of our classmates and compare them.”

Xiao Tong’s eyes brightened and nodded, “Let’s do it. I want to see who is the one who dares to slander me!”

Both of them quickly went back to class. Without wasting time, Hao Ming brainstormed and came out with an idea. The following day, Hao Ming passed a survey paper to classmates. By the end of the class, his classmates handed the paper back to him.

After their class ended, Hao Ming and Xiao Tong stayed at school. They scanned through handwriting and compared it with the handwriting on the exam paper.

It took them for a while, and they didn’t find any that match the handwriting.

“None of these match.” Xiao Tong sighed and looked at the exam paper. The more she looked at the handwriting on the exam paper, the more familiar she felt. However, she couldn’t recognize who was the owner of the handwriting.

“Xiao Tong, some of our classmates haven’t submitted the form yet. It may be one of them.” Said Hao Ming.

“Big brother, let’s check who else hasn’t submitted it,” said Xiao Tong. So both of them checked the name and found out that ten classmates hadn’t submitted the form.

Mei Jiang and Jun King were two of them. “Big brother, I have a feeling that the handwriting might belong to Jun King or Mei Jiang. So I’ll need to double-check their handwriting.”

“Xiao Tong, they are your best friend. Do you think they will actually harm you?” said Hao Ming.

“I’m not sure.” Xiao Tong shrugged.

“If they really did, I will be very disappointed.” Said Xiao Tong. Xiao Tong wouldn’t surprise if they tried to slander her.

“Xiao Tong, I’ll try my best to collect the rest of the form. In the meantime, you try to borrow exercise books from Mei Jiang and Jun King to check their handwriting.” Said Hao Ming.

Xiao Tong was not really in the mood to talk. Instead, she nodded and bid goodbye to Hao Ming.
