Chapter 18: Somethings are bigger while some are smaller

Dear Readers. Scrapers have recently been devasting our views. At this rate, the site (creativenovels .com) might...let's just hope it doesn't come to that. If you are reading on a scraper site. Please don't.

Taking in a deep breath Midas had to admit it felt like the world was filled with far more life.

That should have been expected, all things considered. From what she knew things were far more peaceful on this side of the world than that of the cultivation world; most of the people here didn’t even quite know what cultivation was. To them cultivation was just what the savages on the other side of the world did in order to get stronger. On this Midas couldn’t help but wonder exactly how true that thought was; did they cultivate for longevity or strength?

With how rushed cultivators seemed or how praised phoenix’s were Midas couldn’t help conclude that most truthfully wanted longevity over strength. If it was longevity they desired Midas could most definitely aid with that prospect… Well longevity and their desires is what they most likely wanted. Everyone would rather die with a smile than a furrowed brow, right? Was it evil to offer such a thing at a price – Midas didn’t think so!

This was also the reason why the cultivators were so interested in invading this half of the planet. Although her own [Golden Eulogy Qi] was amazing she couldn’t quite compare to the special qi of {The Infinite Mother} – it was rich in vitality and could easily become any other type of qi. It was akin to the Qi of Heaven & Earth. To cultivate it was easy, it didn’t have any side effects and was literally everywhere here; unlike [Golden Eulogy Qi] which currently only existed where Midas wanted it to. No wonder cultivators kept trying to break into this cultivation paradise and no wonder Mother hated them in return!

Such a conflict had nothing to do with her though.

In less than a year she had already entered the initial stages of the Spirit Elder realm. Such a rate of cultivation should be unheard of even in legend – in the desert she was basically unbeaten while she would be a well respected expert outside of it. While she may be nothing compared to the Phoenix clans she was at least a threat to the malicious {Gold Dust Beast Clans} who didn’t really have anyone over Nascent Soul from her information… Said information being from the Demon God of information making it fairly reliable.

Though looking as the average looking goddess beside her she couldn’t help but reconsider how much trust she should place within the god. To Akaibu even a Nascent Soul Beast must look like an ant that she could squish by breathing out at a slightly elevated force. Thus if she’s just gave the continent a casual glance it could be she mistook someone half a step out of Ascendent to an Ascendent?

<No, I doubt they would take any risks such as increasing their cultivation to an ascendent realm when their acts already gained the ire of the Phoenix. Only the older members should even be in the Nascent Soul realm with only the highest regarded having the resources to survive the tribulation into the Spirit Elder realm – unlike me these were regular {Spirit Beasts} not mightly {Heavenly Beasts} so needed to undergo a tribulation. I can imagine only the top leaders will be Nascent Soul so I should be able to wipe them out with my current cultivation…

Anyway I have more pressing matters to attend to than some gastly bandit beasts ohohoho~!>

With that thought she flicked the worried Ulwazi’s forehead causing her to let out a cute little moan while clutching her forehead. Jumping due to the surprise of the sudden violence committed against her which in turn made her voluptuous bosom jump along with her.  She couldn’t help but look up to her mother while holding her bruised forehead with two big confused eyes.

Midas just gave off the usual life with the usual confident, sensual smirk.

“No need to be sso worried my little princesss shashasha~!” <Midas>

After saying her piece Midas strutted forward while Akaibu being the useful god she was seemed to be already reading up about the current situation. Following Midas’ footsteps while her hand held a book up to her face. Why did the cover have two boys with their clothes falling off upon it? Maybe that was what the person they were looking for enjoyed! Unlikely but Midas decided not to think about her god’s plot as she led them towards the giant tree.

Other details about the tree? Well it was giant and covered in thick vines that were probably bigger than her in her ‘true form’. At the very least those vines were longer than she was. It actually took awhile for the group to arrive at the tree as large sturdy branches held a canopy of verdant green leafs that glimmered under the light from above. Under the {World Tree}’s canopy it seemed as if the vibrant world became filled with even more life. Motes of all kinds of light dashed about under its protection; dancing in the air above them like children excited at the unknown.

There were even children with bright coloured hair peeking from behind the various foliage as they shyly watched the tree going about their journey. If they were trying to be sneaky it would be quite impossible due to the sheer amount of these bright little orbs. Any movement would be seen by at least one of these glorified Christmas lights and from there you would be swarmed by more of them; though it wasn’t dangerous it could lead to something far more terrifying taking notice of you.

There were of course sprites – the undeveloped form of a natural born spirit.

They were weak but due to the nature of a spirit could be used to greatly enhance one’s cultivation stage. They were even useful for more advanced cultivators as by consuming their life they could gain insights into the elements, despite that very few cultivators dared do such an act. Fear is a powerful motivator but  it’s an even greater deterrent. Demons were despised but the Faux Gods of the spirit faction were terrifying beyond belief. While considering these points her goddess finally ordained her with some more information.

“You’ll find that cow in the undergrowth of the world tree. Should probably see the smoke coming from her furnace since she always has it turned on these days – constantly enhancing the weapon she’s been working on since her younger days, [World Piercing Spear – Gungnir], like a maniac. Though it could be said to be Longinus who pushed her down that path with gusto due to maniacally getting materials from her escapades …” <Akaibu>

She was still staring at that book with great interest with those average sized peaks fully perky with the content of said book. Midas didn’t particularly care since she’d rather see two random men than two random women doing it – her last life had truly shown her the inadequacy of females as they were truly treacherous. That Kim Su escort  bitch didn’t even fulfill the terms of her contract and nothing annoys her more than fools who don’t understand basic principles like that!

<Hm… I should get permission from {The Infinite Mother} to make a trip to the other {Mortal Realms} in order to enact my revenge. Best time to do so would be after I beat up some lizards though. Should I join the academy before or after beating up the dragons…>

While Midas was thinking about that she turned to look at the roots of the [World Tree] which was not particularly hard considering they were as crazy as one would imagine. A big tree needed a big foundation so the space under the roots alone could act as a sizable home and just like Akaibu told them one had a billowing of smoke rising from a hole made through the root. A confident yet seductive smirk on her face she headed towards that particular root.

Arriving at the root Midas couldn’t help but be impressed with the design of the residence – there was no gold so it could certainly be improved.

It was made from wood so it melded with the setting well but the building had various engravings as well as reliefs that showed a spear & sword duel wielding girl hunting various mighty beasts. It started with the girl being born from a dead elf before facing a fat old goblin (at least that’s what Midas assumed it was). After that she faced another elf & dwarf who had a large orc behind them though it didn’t seem to go well as the girl ran only to run into two thugs.

The thugs didn’t stand a chance and the girl awakened some sort of power only to then be chased off by a nasty drake…

<Drakes – Dragons but without their best advantage.>

From there she was picked up by another elf who then slowly progressed through rabbits, wolves and bears. At some point against a group of thugs it appeared the girl gained scales to protect a little cow and so the story went on with various other images. Midas couldn’t help but admire the work done as she eventually had her eyes fall upon a scene of a bunch of goblins protecting a church – inside that church was a nine-tailed fox of legend. Seemingly the fox became more of a parental figure for the girl depicted…

While thinking on this the front door opened and a fairly short girl walked out. With her own sensory skills she could tell this girl wasn’t just someone random but held vast amounts of power. She had cute little cow horns on her forehead which poked out from her short white hair that had black ‘splotches’. Atop her head there were also two large floppy cow ears that worked well with the girl’s large but drowsy brown eyes. She seemed timid yet still came out to greet them so Midas had no complaints. The cow-succubus turned up to look behind herself and thus at the depictions on her house – a gentle smile filled with warmth formed on her previous passive expression.

“It tells the story of how Beth conquered this territory. All the way from when she was first born, when she became a dragon after dying against Icky, traveled to make a covenant with our own goddess, gaining control over her flames to save me and the epic duel at the end of it… It was our first adventurer but we’ve had many since there.

We’ve met many people and…” <Emily>

Glancing at the relief that showed a dark elf.

“Lost others due to their own foolishness yet if there is one thing Beth has taught me it’s to never look back and keep moving forward.” <Emily>

The girl’s dainty hand softly caressed a nearby relief of the girl fighting against what seemed like a giant lizard. It also appeared to be the first time the girl used all of her tails in a fight. While thinking this a curious voice came out from behind Midas.

“Iss thiss the cow… I thought her chesst would be larger?” <Ulwazi>
