Chapter 3 – “You are my Daddy.”

Five years later.

At the airport in England, Xia Xingcheng looked at the return tickets in her hand with her thoughts drifting away. All the feelings flooded into her mind at this time so that she went blank for a while.

For the entire five years, she had lived in this country and never called back even once to contact her family.

Like she was a dead person, her father never cared about her life. If it wasn’t that Xia Xingyan was about to get engaged with Xu Hao, it would never happen to him to remember that he had another daughter who still lived in this world.

Thus, Xia Xingcheng didn’t have any reminiscence to the so-called ‘homeland’ where she grew up. The feelings and emotions all she had to that ‘place’ before was all blotted out on the night when she was expelled.

She literally didn’t want to come back and meet the people who hurt her before. However, she couldn’t ignore the words of her father’s threat on the phone that he might do something on her old grandmother once she didn’t follow what he said.

Yes, her grandmother, who was the only closest person she cared in this world. She had tried to persuade her grandmother going abroad and spending her remaining years in comfort with her before she left, but her grandmother couldn’t part with the memories of her dead husband and daughter and leave away. Therefore, Xia Xingcheng had no options but give up on taking her grandmother abroad.

She wished that she could never come back all the time. But she failed because she couldn’t leave her grandmother alone.

“Mommy. Mommy.”

Suddenly, a soft cute child voice sounded beside her while she was losing in her thoughts.

She lowered her head and saw a little boy who was around 4 years old gently tugged at her dress. On the next second, she heard that the boy reminded her seriously as an adult, “We need to go now. It’s almost boarding.”

Xia Xingcheng then finally recovered from her thoughts. The anger in her eyes slowly disappeared and then she held the kid up smilingly, “Okay, let’s go to the boarding gate now.”

Meanwhile, a tall man in western dress and leather shoes strode in a VIP hall heading to the boarding gate with a cold face. Behind him were two strapping bodyguards following.

Xia Xingcheng bought a first-class ticket. During several years wandering aimlessly in a strange land, she had not only suffered a lot of pains but also slid into many habits. Except for frequent insomnia and headache, the thing she feared most was noisy. Therefore, she put a blanket over her and closed her eyes dozing right after she got in the airplane and sat down. Of course, she remembered to tell her kid, Bao being quiet and staying on the seat before she fell asleep.

“Bao” was the nickname of the boy which, in Chinese referring to treasure, exactly showed the meaning of his existence to Xia Xingcheng—the most precious treasure she had ever.

He was quite obedient and just sat on his seat playing the toys bought by his mom silently. After a while, he turned his head and looked at Xia Xingcheng who was tilting back in her chair and sleeping. Soon, he noticed her pale face.

“Mommy.” Looking at Xia Xingcheng whose eyebrows were drawn together, Bao was kind of worried and he asked, “Are you okay?” At this time, Xia Xingcheng felt a bit itches in her throat and she couldn’t help but cough several times, then she said in a weak voice, “I’m okay…”

Might she also realized that the words she said didn’t have any persuasion, so she turned her head sideways to look at her kid and forced herself to smile, “I just want some water.”

As soon as she stopped, Bao immediately turned around and jumped off the seat going to ask for a cup of the water for her.

Watching him leave, Xia Xingcheng felt a load at her heart, wondering where the character of Bao came from so that he acted more like an adult and even knew how to take care of an adult as a four-year-old kid.

And now, Bao held a cup of water and ran in small steps hurriedly. However, when he just arrived at the cabin door, he slipped and bumped into a man. The glass of water in his hands was knocked over and the water inside immediately poured out and made the man’s shoes and pants wet.

Feeling the water on his clothes, Sheng Yeting lowered his head and noticed the water stain. He frowned at once. His face was unmoved, but on his lips, there was a trace of displeasure, “What are you doing? Don’t you really know how to walk?”

“Sorry, I didn’t mean it.” With the empty cup in his hands, Bao murmured to apologize. But soon he was stunned when he looked up and saw the face of the man in front of him, “I…”

The man was so tall and broad-shouldered, which was exactly the same as the looks of a ‘father’ should have in his mind.

Bao’s mouth opened slightly and he didn’t know why but the man seemed to be more and more kind and familiar when he looked at the man. After a short think, Bao’s eyes lightened up and then he hugged Sheng Yeting’s leg and called loudly, “Daddy!”

Immediately, the two guards behind Sheng Yeting were shocked by what happened now. Holy crap! During the long time they had been working for Sheng Yeting, they could swear that they’d never seen someone could approach Sheng Yeting so close until the inexperienced small kid showed up.

At once, Sheng Yeting’s face darken. He reached out and pushed the small hands on his leg away, then he said coldly, “Stop calling me that! I’m not your father.”

He had seen a lot of pregnant women pointing at their big round belly and announcing the baby inside was his kid. But now, it was the first time that a ‘real’ kid appeared and called him Daddy in a sweet voice.

Bao fixed his eyes on Sheng Yeting’s face and then answered firmly as if he truly identified his father, “You are my Daddy. Why did you abandon my mom and me…?”

Bao felt more and more wronged while speaking, so he curled his lips and looked very miserable.

At this time, the passengers nearby all turned their heads and looked at Bao curiously as soon as they heard the words Bao said.

The noise made by this ‘accident’ woke Xia Xingcheng up. She opened her eyes looking in the direction of the noise and tried to figure out what happened. Then suddenly, she saw her dear kid who was standing in the center of the crowd and holding a man’s leg with his hands.

“Excuse me. I’m sorry.” She stood up at once and walked to them quickly. It was so embarrassing that she reached out trying to get her kid back, “Sorry, he may recognize the wrong person. Bao’er, come here.”

Meanwhile, she also felt weird. Bao was a thoughtful and docile kid all the time and would never disobey her.

She didn’t know why he suddenly ignored her words at this time. No matter what she said, Bao just kept pulling the man’s pants tightly with a pout and refused to let go.

Even Sheng Yeting who was cold-blooded and cold-hearted felt sorry for this kid at this moment after he saw the poor cute face of Bao.

Finally, he couldn’t help but scold Xia Xingcheng with his eyebrows furrowed together, “Do you know how to be a mother? You shouldn’t give birth to him since you cannot give him a complete family.”
