It was dark when I woke up. There was doctors’ voice in my ears, messy and noisy, but I could see nothing.

I stretched out my hand and wanted to grasp something in confusion, but a cold hand pressed mine and later the owner of the hand comforted me, “Miss Mo, don’t worry or be afraid. We are just checking your condition”.

They were checking my condition?

Dear Readers. Scrapers have recently been devasting our views. At this rate, the site (creativenovels .com) might...let's just hope it doesn't come to that. If you are reading on a scraper site. Please don't.

But why was it so dark?

All of a sudden, a terrible thought came to me。

I grasped the man’s hand and asked in a trembling voice, “Why don’t you turn on the light?why is the room… so dark?”

The man’s hand stiffened visibly and the aura around was frozen all of a sudden. In the silent aura, I began to cry and sob resentfully.

I was blind. I could see nothing. My thought became true。

The doctor kept comforting me that these symptoms were caused by brain injury; besides, I had cervical cancer, which aggravated the situation. As long as I was relaxed, my vision would recover slowly。

Was that true?

The doctor loosened his grip of my hand and comforted me softly, ”President Qin is waiting outside. We would tell him the truth about your illness.”

“Don’t tell him I can’t see anything and have got cervical cancer, please,” I grasped the doctor’s hand quickly and begged him in a low voice.

In the end, I couldn’t help crying. The empty operating room was full of my crying, which was sad and painful。

The doctors were in a momentary dilemma, but I could not see their faces. After a moment of silence, they promised me.

Maybe because the drugs worked, I passed out again. When I woke up, I knew I had slept for two days.

When I opened my eyes, it was still dark. The ward was silent. Maybe there was only me here.

A sense of bitterness appeared in my eyes. When I was about to reach out my hand, an indifferent voice arose suddenly, “You awake.”

My heart pumped. It was Qin Mochen unexpectedly.

I heard his footsteps getting close to me, and his indifferent voice seemed to have a hint of heartache, “Do you feel better? Get up and eat something.”

Then he touched my forehead. As his warm breath brushed against my ear, my body trembled. I did not understand why Qin Mochen changed his attitude.

Didn’t he hate me?

Anyway, this moment I did not want to see him. Since he hurt me too deep, I was mentally exhausted.

I closed my eyes and did not want him to know that I was blind, so I said in a cold voice, “Please leave me alone. I don’t want to see you.”

I could feel the hand on my forehead stiffen for a moment. Then he withdrew his hand and said in a flat tone, “Have a rest and I will come to check on you later.”

Qin Mochen left without hesitation, leaving me alone in the empty room. I was shrouded in the endless darkness.

Days of stress and pain finally made me cry. I curled up. Why did I have to bear various ills of life?

As I shivered and cried, my back suddenly felt warm, and my whole body was tightly wrapped by a pair of powerful arms. Someone gently wiped away my tears with a hand.

I stiffened, and suddenly turned around, wanting to see the person, but everything was dark. Oh, I almost forgot I had been blind.

With my heart throbbing painfully, I put on a bitter smile, because I knew it couldn’t be Qin Mochen, who wished to kill me instead of being so gentle to me.

Without hesitation, I asked in a choked voice, “Chengzhao?”

“H’m.” That tender tone was so familiar to me. It was really him.
