I am editing this to announce that Volume Six now ends after Chapter 287. I am moving this afterward into position. It was formerly after Chapter 279. I decided that this new position is a better break point between volumes.
I also have decided not to create a normal afterword for this chapter, but I will say a few things. The last year and a half have been a serious strain due to multiple issues IRL, and I consider it something of an accomplishment to have continued this story, although I did slow the posting down to two chapters per week. However, it has also been a joy to have this bright spot in my life, a sort of continuously present ‘good place’, to offset the headaches. I really appreciate everyone who reads this story, and I hope you all stick with me to the end.
Probably, only a few of those readers will actually come back and see this, so I will certainly repeat those words in later afterwords.
Tiana has reached a point in her journey where she fully understands what she is, and has an idea of what she must become, but she certainly still has many questions to answer. She also still has a lot of growing to do to fill the much bigger shoes of an Elder that she now possesses.
So, Volume Six is once again in the bag.
This was the ‘Rescue Amelia’ arc, part two. Volume 5 and Volume 6 appeared in my original plan as one volume and one arc, and I think in retrospect they would have been better that way, but it is what it is. I hope folks have enjoyed it.
Volume Seven is a sort of “Training Arc”, although somewhat different than the usual cliché. And the world it will present is very different. But I always wanted to insert a ‘Training Arc’ into this story, because there’s just gotta be one if I’m going to follow the clichés. I just refuse to folllow the normal script.
By the way, you’ve made it through more than a half million words at this point! Not quite War & Peace length yet, but getting close. On the other hand, it’s only half the total length of the seven Harry Potter books.
PS: I mentioned posting my appendices here once I got my computer problems ironed out. Funny story: I lost those appendices forever, along with a bunch of other writing. Instead, I’m going to post some newly rewritten versions of essentially the same content at the end of Volume Eight.
