Bk 2 Chapter 168 – Training (vii)

The principle behind what Zilan had done was fairly simple to understand however, to actually put it into action required both mental toughness as well as an uncanny ability to manipulate energy.

What had he done? Well first off, since the spike in the energy, an essential component to his improvement, refused to show itself unless it had confidence in wrecking his creations, Zilan had no choice but to trick it. Of course, the other option was to follow the rules of the space and obediently get crushed by the spike however, Zilan was one who rarely followed rules.

Tricking the space was a good idea but how he was going to actually put it into action took him some time to figure out. Once he did figure it all out, implementing the scheme was another step that he was not confident in completely accomplishing.

The plan was to create individual parts of what went into two genuine Storm Claws and then separate them into six fake Storm claws. What followed was to have these fake Storm claws that he used all of his energy to create draw out the spike in pressure before they joined together, back into their original form to combat the pressure.

A lot of research and thought went into this plan. For example, how did Zilan know the spike would still appear despite understanding that the space would not recognise the fake Storm claws as real? After all, the sky still had a ‘10’ when they formed.

Well in the beginning when he tried to fluke his way through the training, he had created ten modified Storm claws which did not trigger the space to countdown however, the spike made an appearance anyway. This was one of the reasons he was hopeful that the plan would succeed.

The other aspect of the plan, the one that took up most of his mental power to try and figure out was how to create the fake Storm claws. The principles behind their creation was something that required much innovation on his part.

Why was this so? After all, it was just creating fake Storm claws just like the modified claws, right? Wrong!

The first thing one must understand when looking at the fake Storm claws that later came together to become two genuine Storm claws was that the concept of fusion was not involved at all. Fusing Storm claws was a skill he had yet to learn thus it was impossible for him to fuse two into one let alone six into one.

What had happened was Zilan had divided parts that made up two Storm claws and disguised them to look like real Storm claws or to put it another way, he had created the parts individually before making them look like six different Storm claws. He then willed those individual parts to come together and become genuine Storm claws.

To illustrate this point the wagons used by mortals can be used as an example. To prove that what Zilan had done was not fusion we can show step by step using a wagon in place of the Storm claws what he had done.

In this case, let’s say the wagon is in the manufacturing phase. A carpenter would usually craft each component of the wagon separately e.g. the wheels, the cabin etc. And only when each component had been created would the carpenter put them together forming the thing known as a wagon.

Fusion on the other hand would imply that one had two wagons, put them together thus fusing them and as a result come up with a finished product that is many times better than an ordinary wagon.

What Zilan had done was exactly the same as what the carpenters would do. Create each component individually before putting them together. Of course, he disguised his components in order to fool the spike in pressure into coming out.

Finally, the aspect of the plan that glued all of these parts together was Zilan’s ability to pull it off. In order to successfully pull of his scheme, he would have to be able to manipulate his Blood force in such a way that he could create these individual components of the Storm Claws before willing them to come together.

It was a challenging thing to do however, once again thanks to his incredible foundations and constitution, it didn’t pose too much of a problem. To put it into perspective a genius Beast of similar cultivation would be completely lost as to how to so finely manipulate their energy like Zilan did.

……………….

After laying down for half an hour, Zilan finally decided to get up.

“Let’s see what I can do now.” He licked his lips in anticipation.

Before today, he could create 2 Storm claws after expending 1.5% of the 5% total Blood force he had. Now though…

*Swish*

The gigantic dragon claws suddenly appeared from both sides of his waist. Focusing his energy, Zilan used 1.5% to create three perfectly real Storm claws.

“Click!” The number ‘7’ appeared in the sky.

“Hahaha…” Zilan laughed his heart out, his head raised to the sky. His eyes glowed with an interested splendour.

He waved his hand and another Storm claw formed.

“Click!”

And another.

“Click!”

“Click!”

“Click!”

…………

Clicking sounds resounded throughout the space until all of a sudden, everything stopped. Looking up at the sky, a humongous zero could be seen, causing Zilan to sheepishly smile.

The surrounding space began trembling. The zero in the sky disappeared, replacing it was a line of Draconic text that caused Zilan’s smile to freeze.

The text read, “Limit of cultivation reached. Reward in progress….”

‘I’m already able to produce Storm claws to the limit of my cultivation?’ Zilan couldn’t believe it.

Right now he was a Low level, Early Phase soul compression stage practitioner.

“Wait…”

Thinking about it another way, he abruptly realised something.

“Before training here, I could create 10 storm claws using 15% of my total Blood force. Now I can create 10 Storm claws using 5% of my total energy. In that case my current limit is 200 Storm claws.”

From being able to produce around 66 Storm claws at one time to now 200 at one time, in just a few days no less. Such an improvement was frightening.

Now it was imperative to mention that Zilan had cheated heavily throughout the training process. If he went about things the normal way, it would have taken him much more time to reach his current capability.

Clearing his throat, he looked back up at the sky.

“Administering reward.”

A grey blur that was as fast as light sped towards Zilan. He didn’t even have time to blink before it pierced into his body, disappearing. He swiftly searched his body for an entry wound or a mark of any kind however, it was to no avail. The blur was gone and the worst part was that he couldn’t even detect where in his body it was.

“Reward Administered. Would you like to proceed to the next stage of training?” A line of Draconic text which he completely ignored appeared in the sky.

“What was that thing that went inside of me?” He asked Shadow coach.

Shadow coach tapped him on the shoulder before moving away.

“What do you mean, something that will come in handy when the time comes?”

Confused and somewhat tired, he exited from the Cloud Inheritance Palace.

As soon as he appeared in the physical world, Hihi could feel something inside of Zilan that greatly shocked him. He however, kept his mouth shut.
