Peter was surprised by what Dramix asked him. He could also tell that Draama was even more surprised than he was.
“So, old friend, could you be the spirit of my line?” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)
Peter was a little startled, but he didn’t have any real reason to refuse except his real life.
The game wasn’t on and he was asleep right now. This made him believe that the rules might have changed.
He also found that he entered the game right when he needed to most of the time, while he left the same way. He wondered how it would work without the game catalyst.
“Well?” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)
Peter sighed, and even though the body language wasn’t there, the noise was.
“I’m considering it. While I am, why not tell me a story Dramix. Tell me happened since we were last together.” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)
Dramix paused.
“This is the story of a coming betrayal and a final battle. First off, the battle took place nearly thirty-five winters ago, and it went just like we thought it would until we got to the dark lord. The power of all the dawn breaker gear was greater than we imagined. The shields that the holy order used were crushed as if they were never there. Several dozen people also died each time he swung his sword. While this was going on, I heard Zwilander laugh. The spear actually seemed pleased, pleased to finally have a worthy opponent and someone to wield it during the fight. I then took the front with it in tow. For the first time, I think the spear was finally in it’s true and most powerful form. Our powerful clashes made the land shake and sunder. It took every last bit of my training and strength to stand as his equal. Zwilander’s final strike struck the dawn’s twilight with such a force that it shattered the sword and destroyed the one wielding it. We were told that Zwilander was one of the ancient weapons, but we didn’t expect him to have the power to cleave a mountain. After we won the battle, I lowered Zwilander and he snapped in two. Everyone around us then heard his spirit cheer. ‘A glorious end indeed. I can finally join my brethren in the land of eternal heroes. I shall wait for you there, so you may use me once again and fight real battles, kin of dragons.’ After that, the spoils were split and the bounties for the gods’ conquests were then paid out. The holy clerics returned to their island to rebuild their order, while the elves left to replant their forests. Gulliver then restored his kingdom and Naleeit followed me to the Drakan lands.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)
Dramix scratched his chin.
“Our victory celebration produced a clutch of children, one of which is Draama. She already had birth by the time I showed up at the doorstep of a simple tailor shop. It was empty though. He lived there for years after I refused to return home when I was first recalled back. He then died only a few days later after hearing my tale of saving the world.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)
Dramix paused while feeling sad because he was recounting his father’s passing.
Dramix was glad that his father knew that he was true kin of dragons before he died.
“I then went to the great hall of dragons after that and presented myself, Naleeit, and a portion of the riches I obtained as a tribute. They questioned me, so I told my story to them. After a few weeks of waiting, I was finally granted permission to start my own house. I doubt that they would ever have let me start my own house if they knew what I focus on.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)
Dramix chuckled.
“While starting out, we took in many unwanted and poor people with nowhere else to go. We gave them the ability to make something of themselves. After years of being called crazy, a notice of success appeared before them. In my house, we respect what you can do more than who you are. We also don’t play favorites based on gender.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)
Dramix then turned to his daughter before speaking.
“Your sister was a troublemaker, so we expelled her for nearly ruining the house. I believe it’s time I told you that story as well.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)
Dramix then looked back toward Peter.
“At another time though. Let me get back on track. Every great and enduring house has a lineage spirit. I’m asking you to be ours. Not just watching over my daughter, but her children, and those after.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)
Peter paused to think about the scale. There was no way he could keep such a promise in his lifetime. Even if it could be done, the mental strain would surely make him go mad.
“That’s a big commitment, old friend. Before I commit to this, I must see that your house can even endure such a long time.” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)
Dramix then smirked in the joy that Peter recognized he did when he did something clever.
“I shall show you immediately then.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)
Suddenly, the fog area subsided and Peter found himself back in the eye of souls hanging around Dramix’s neck. He had some sort of ceremonial garb on, while Draama was similarly dressed beside him. Draama then stood up and Dramix was helped to his feet by his daughter.
Peter then noticed a few other similarly dressed Drakan around the shrine as well, but none of them were as close as Dramix and his daughter were. Dramix then gently walked forward and left the ceremonial room. It didn’t take long before they entered a grand hall with a raging fire in the middle of it. Peter then noticed tables filled with meats and ales were placed all around the room. He then saw likely over a hundred different people talking amongst themselves until the room went quiet. The people talking looked at Naleeit kneeing a much younger Drakan in the gut and giving him the equivalent of a b***h slap.
Dramix sighed after seeing the scene, as he took a spear off the wall and threw it in between Naleeit and the young Drakan’s guards drawing their swords.
“You dare bare weapons in my hall; without my permission?” (Dramix)
The guards dropped their weapons immediately, as Dramix opened his hand and found a new spear inside it that was handed to him by a random guard as he walked forward
The other Drakan got to his feet before backing away from the spear that almost hit him.
“This woman here says that she won’t let me have my choice of HoDoRo*1, then she struck me. I will have her head….” (drakan youth)
Dramix arrived in front of the youth and kneed him in the gut before slapping him to the ground as Naleeit did. To make a point, Dramix laid his spear’s business end along the back of his neck.
“I don’t care if you’re from the Ironwings or the Firebrands, you young whelp! This is the house of the Timeless Lance, so you will show it the respect it deserves!” (Dramix)
There were then several roars and cheers from the people watching. Dramix didn’t let that distract him from the person at his feet or his guards though. Dramix turned the sharp edge flat as he went to the other side of the youth’s skull and started raising him to his feet again. He then lowered it again and had Naleeit take the spear from him before crossing his arms.
“Speak to me about your business, but you better hope that it doesn’t anger me any further.” (Dramix)
The youth growled under his breath before looking at his guards and thinking that they were disappointments.
“I don’t know why, but my father sent me here to request a meeting with you at your earliest convenience.” (drakan youth)
Dramix growled lightly, which Peter knew that it was sound of him thinking.
“Tell him that I’ll accept his request, but I don’t know exactly when I’ll be able to meet with him.” (Dramix)
The youth then nodded and turned away before walking past his guards. His guards then looked at Dramix before he nodded and they grabbed their weapons before following after their young master.
After they left the hall, Dramix bent down and picked up the spear that was sticking out of the ground before walking back to the high seat where Naleeit was waiting for him.
“That move was new.” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)
Dramix grunted in amusement before responding.
“Naleeit taught it to me. Apparently, she had to use it a lot in her youth..” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)
*1-HoDoRo is a made of thing that means, I will make a woman have the honor of carrying my babies. Normally an honor for one of a higher house to do to a lower house. Rejecting means your house believes you have the strength comparable to the house making the request. Which is viewed as an insult and powerplay on unaligned houses or equally powerful houses.
