Peter then appeared and stood next to a black knight and several foggy figures, not really sure what was going on.
“Peter, my old friend. It’s Zwilander. Please bear with this situation and everything will be explained.” (Zwilander)
Peter was going to say something in response, but he decided to keep his mouth shut. Suddenly, the scene of him being stabbed by Jokon was projected in front of them, causing him to have mixed feelings of whether he should be proud or not. Suddenly, his experiences with Dramix started playing afterward.
“Ah, the vote is in your favor so far. Notice the hourglass.” (Zwilander)
Peter then noticed that there was an hourglass-like the one in the spirit shop. It had nearly twice the amount of white sand compared to black. After nearly an hour of his time with Dramix was shown, the white sand in the hourglass was nearly two thirds the way full, as the black sand was less than half.
“Good, you passed. Now for the difficult part. Peter, you must now make a choice. Is your old life worth it for this new one as a shamans spirit?” (Zwilander)
Peter paused at the question.
“I’ve been wondering about ever since I came back.” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)
The knight then placed his surprisingly light hand on his shoulder.
“You must quickly decide. I’m acting as a medium because I know you. Which do you value more? If you keep the reasons to yourself, you will have to let go of the person you pass on from.” (Zwilander)
Peter then thought about Dramix and Draama needing him so badly, then he thought about his other life. He had no family, while his only close friend was Justin, who was still in a coma and may never wake up. He had no real prospects either, and his money was drying up quickly. At best, he could get a regular job and live a normal but lonely life.
“What will happen to the other side if I pick one or the other?” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)
The knight seemed to laugh before responding.
“If you go back to being a guardian spirit, then you will have been robbed and mugged in your own home, or some other ill fate. As for the others, they have lived without you for so long. The power of the amulet will be sustained for several generations, so by the time it wanes, they may no longer need it, or you may even be able to come back.” (Zwilander)
Peter thought about it. His original home didn’t need him, and neither did his companions in the other.
“Do you know what happened to my friend Justin?” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)
Zwilander then looked up a bit as a body of fog moved over to them.
“What’s up Pewtersmite?” (Justin)
Peter turned to the fog in surprise.
“Justin?” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)
The body of fog then changed to have the top of Justin’s body.
“In the flesh… kinda. I’m taking a break and waiting until Hal meditates because he needs guidance. It’s great that we’re also on the same side now.” (Justin)
Peter became confused.
“How did a human bounty hunters spirit amulet wind up on the neck of a Drakan housemaster that’s never set foot outside of their capital?” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)
Justin was about to answer, but the knight coughed before responding in his place.
“When the owner of his spirit amulet died, he arrived here and was also judged. His vote was much less than yours in comparison and your degree of success. Now, if all your worries have been settled, let us finish our business so we can return to our proper places.” (Zwilander)
Peter smiled, knowing where he wished to be now.
Peter then slowly faded in front of Draama while she was meditating, causing her to be slightly surprised.
“You’ve returned spirit. Does that mean you have your own plain as well?” (Draama’s Spirit Talking)
Peter shook his head before noticing that he actually had one now.
“No, I had to make a choice. Either I give you up, or I give up my old life. The details are unimportant, but just know that I’m with you and your line until the end.” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)
Peter then noticed that there was a scar on Draama’s chin that wasn’t there before.
“What happened during my absence?” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)
Draama felt the nick and laughed lightly.
“Many things spirit. The games started for one. My house currently has four points, while house three has five, house four has two, and house three has one. Some of our preferred contests are coming up as well.” (Draama’s Spirit Talking)
Peter could easily see how happy and proud she was.
“There’s no better way for me to know then see it for myself. However, we have many things to tell each other. Since we have the time now, let me start.” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)
Peter then raised his hand and the eye of souls appeared, hovering and spinning above it.
“Do you notice something different about it?” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)
Draama then grabbed it and inspected it. She knew that it’s a limited number of slots sometimes changed colors due to the spirit changing his active abilities. She also knew that his three inner abilities never changed because they were rather powerful. The first one enhanced her awareness and perception ability passively and continuously. The second ability slowed down time for everyone but her and the spirit. It was rather limited, but it could be used in short bursts to help identify and react at lightning speeds. She wasn’t sure about the third one though, but it was the only one in the very center; the original stone that her father mined.
She then noticed that it’s blue hue was no longer there.
“The center gem is dark.” (Draama’s Spirit Talking)
