Chapter 991: Get down, Xia Jinyuan!

The firefight was getting intense. Listening to the sounds of gunfire behind them, Ye Jian raised her arm and downed a mercenary who rushed out and encountered them. She covered his mouth and nose and sliced his jugular artery with her military dagger ‘Cold Steel Kukri’ that she bought from the black market. Her dagger sliced in from his vocal chords then the edge went upwards and horizontal. The body of the struggling mercenary twitched a couple of times violently, and when Ye Jian sheathed her dagger, one obstacle had been eliminated.

“Keep up, Ye Jian!” Xia Jinyuan’s cold reminder came in from her earmic. He didn’t want Ye Jian to lag behind too far; this was to prevent the four of them scattering too much and allowing ST to intercept them. After saving one, another one gets captured.

Ye Jian replied with a low ‘mhm’ and dragged the corpse lying in the middle of the road into a dark corner. Her feet swept over the blood-stained ground, allowing the fine yellow sand to cover up the traces of blood just a little. Without stopping for a moment, she hurriedly kept up with Pigeon, who was protecting K7 in the middle of the formation.

“Dodge, right! Avoid!” Xia Jinyuan, who was both spearheading the assault and scouting, noticed a bright light rushing towards them after it rounded a corner. He first rolled across the ground and laid behind a pile of gravel, hiding himself.

Pigeon was carrying K7, so his movements were slightly slower, and he didn’t make a cool leap and roll. One second before the bright light shone on them, he carried K7 and leaped towards the darkness, he didn’t even know where he landed.

“Move 10 cm to the left, stat!” Ye Jian’s urgent voice was heard in his ear, calculating the largest radius the bright light shone out. Pigeon and K7 still had to move 10 centimeters to the left to avoid being seen by the bright light.

K7 straight ahead rolled across the ground, the gravel chipped his back, shoulder and the open wounds on his body also hit the gravel without any protection, but no sounds of pain could be heard from him.

This was a group of three mercenaries; they should be a patrol unit. They rushed out from the rear to back up their colleagues near the front; their footsteps were quite steady. The beam of bright light swept left and right, and shone on K7, whose movements were a moment too slow.

Ye Jian was like a panther, pouncing on them from the darkness. She got ahold of the barrel of the gun that was pointed at K7 and twisted it fiercely. With Pigeon’s help smacking away the flashlight in their hands, all that was left was the sounds of fighting coming from the dark corner.

They yelled and roared loudly, trying to attract the attention of their colleagues, but the sounds of gunfire in front had overshadowed the sounds of their roaring.

The ‘Cold Steel Kukri’ in Ye Jian’s hands fiercely plunged itself into the inner thighs of a mercenary. When he cried out in pain, she quickly pulled out the hunting-knife-shaped combat knife; then, she used the combat knife’s sharp and keen edge to slice apart the arteries in his thigh.

Two ‘bangs’ swept past her ears, Pigeon, who had just opened fire roared: “Hurry and get K7 away!”

In front of them, Xia Jinyuan was keeping two mercenaries occupied. Ye Jian’s gaze slightly dimmed, and she spoke with curdling bloodlust: “I’ll lure away the obstacles ahead, you escape with K7! Quick! Q king, quicken the pace!”

In case they get discovered by patrolling mercenaries, then they’ll be in danger!

With a face smeared in blood, Xia Jinyuan’s eyes were boiling with vigor, his legs clamped around the neck of one mercenary, and with the help of torque, he twisted. Using the strength in his legs, he broke the guy’s neck. After eliminating the two mercenaries, he chuckled lowly; his tensed voice had a couple of ounces of warmth in them. “I’ve finished them; later, we still have V8 and T6 who are disguised as a government soldier and mercenary; they’ll come to clean up for us.”

So they still had backup…, Ye Jian was feeling much more at ease now.

Pigeon hauled K7 up, his heart beating wildly, “Brother, we’ve managed to come out after much trouble, don’t you dare die like this, endure it for a bit, and keep your last breath in check!”
