CH 8 : ETERNAL DAO LOTUS SEED

The recollection, which was processed by a few seconds, had finally come to an end.

Feng Luotian opened his eyes and looked at Mei Yue’er with caring eyes.

“Urgh!!” Feng Luotian let out a little groan.

Although they were out of the Wight Wolf’s stomach, he still had seven bitten holes on his body.

Feng Luotian knelt down and gently laid Mei Yue’er on the ground.

Buzz!!

The magic formation circle looming in the sky finally retracted itself and disappeared.

At that moment, a round grey stone dropped down and fell right next to Feng Luotian.

“[Eternal Dao Lotus Seed]!! Well … looks like it really is dead after all.”

Feng Luotian picked up the Seed and inspected it. From the look of its colorless state, one could simply determine that the item had become defective, comparing to its brilliance from before.

“Hmm?”

A little confusion arose to his face as Feng Luotian noticed a subtle ripple pulsing from it.

“Is it still not dead?”

He was clearly surprised and ecstatic by this development. Such treasure fell into his hands just like that. However, what really happened was a little different from what he had hoped for.

Boom!!

That ripple which seemed to be the last lifeforce of the Seed turned into a wisp of light bursting out of it.

Following that, the Seed no longer had any energy within it, completely inactive.

Feng Luotian: “!?”

Unable to sense anything from the treasure, he started to get disappointed.

But before Feng Luotian could even voice his complaint, the floating wisp of light unexpectedly moved in lightning speed. It traveled through his chest, then continued on to Mei Yue’er’s and Sun Wuji’s outside the fog of dust.

Upon finishing its purpose, that wisp of light shot up to the sky and vanished.

Sizzle!!

After a few seconds, smoke was coming out of his wounds, then they started to recover at a visible rate. His complexion was getting better as well.

This extraordinary scenario also happened to Mei Yue’er’s injuries.

When the process ended, Feng Luotian delicately used his thumb to wipe out bloodstains on her face until it returned to its usual dazzlement.

Seeing that Mei Yue’er was now completely fine, although she was still asleep, a bright smile appeared on his face.

Feng Luotian closely examined the grey stone in his hand: “As expected from one of the Supreme Treasures. A tiny wisp of its leftover energy was able to heal someone to this extent.”

“But that wisp of light … I have a feeling that with it, there might be a chance to resurrect this [Eternal Dao Lotus Seed] … Anyway, it’s gone for now. If fate permits it, then I will be able to do it someday.”

Feng Luotian put the Seed away. Not forgetting to retrieve the Wight Wolf’s monster core, he then carried Mei Yue’er and walked out of the fog to see Sun Wuji.

Upon seeing Feng Luotian carrying Mei Yue’er out of the mist, Sun Wuji talked to himself.

“If I’m not dreaming, then I must be crazy!!”

This sentence was totally understandable.

A few minutes ago, he lost his two friends.

The next moment after he lost himself, he woke up in the rain of blood and fog.

After that, a light drove through him, then the all-bloodied body of his entirely recovered like it was turned back in time.

And when he was about to check what was going on … his lost friends stepped out of the fog completely uninjured.

Anyone who encountered this circumstance would definitely think that their mind had gone wrong someway.

“You are neither dreaming nor crazy, Brother Sun. The only crazy thing today is this very occurrence!!”

Feng Luotian casually replied to his friend’s question.

The fog cleared out and Sun Wuji saw a huge carcass of Wight Wolf’s split figure. Furthermore, he noticed that all of their clothes were blood-soaked, so what happened so far must be real.

Sun Wuji: “What’s just happened?”

Feng Luotian: “How could I know? I probably got eaten after you were blasted onto that hill over there. What happened after that?”

Feng Luotian had to act it out like he did not know anything. If he started spouting the truth, he would be the one that would be considered crazy.

Sun Wuji recounted the story from the moment Feng Luotian was swallowed until where Mei Yue’er was eaten. That was all he could remember.

Feng Luotian: “Look at the situation, I think there is an expert kind enough to offer us his help.”

He said while looking at the dead beast.

Sun Wuji: “I wonder who they are, though. To think that he could obliterate a Talon Monster in a single strike. Such strength can only be exerted by someone at least a peak Talon Warrior.”

Feng Luotian: “Brother Sun, tell you what? That attack must have been made by a much stronger group of people.”

Feng Luotian started acting mysteriously.

Of course, Sun Wuji did not believe that Feng Luotian would be able to sense the power level which he himself could not identify. However, he still entertained his friend by asking: “Oh yeah? How strong are they?”

Feng Luotian became serious and answered with another question.

“Have you ever heard of a high and mighty, ‘God Immortal Realm’, Brother Sun?”

“God Immortal Theríon Realm!? What kind of cultivation level is that? Brother Feng, you’re making that up!!”

Feng Luotian smiled in response.

With their current cultivation, there was no way they would know the names of such levels. But that did not include Feng Luotian right now. He had seen far more things than the strongest people on this planet.

The formation was created by twelve people with the power at the peak of the world, and boosted by a Supreme Treasure. Even a Saint Monster would have been killed upon being hit by such a formation. But even if Feng Luotian was to mention a Saint Monster, Sun Wuji would still not believe such a thing.

Seeing that Feng Luotian could joke with him like always, Sun Wuji was no longer worried. However, Mei Yue’er was still conscious, so he asked: “How is Sister Mei?”

Feng Luotian: “She only needs to rest. She should be exhausted by overexerting her bloodline power. That’s why she still hasn’t woken up yet. Let’s carry her back to the city, or rather, to the Peacock Pavilion. We should report this incidence to Uncle Mei as soon as possible.”

Sun Wuji: “Got it!! Sigh … We really have a stroke of good luck.”

Feng Luotian: “Yeah, it’s the greatest fortune of us that we are still alive.”

As they were about to head back to the city, Feng Luotian suddenly said: “Another thing, Brother Sun.”

Sun Wuji: “What?”

Feng Luotian: “You will not break my will to protect … It was you who said it, right? It was resounding and I could hear you even unconscious inside the beast. That was very cool.”

“!!” Sun Wuji was a little taken aback by Feng Luotian’s statement until he arrogantly laughed: “Hahaha!! Now you know of my unyielding spirit. Maybe you should regard me as your boss from now on!! Hahaha!!”

Feng Luotian gave out a smile once more: “Thank you.”

Sun Wuji continued with his haughty attitude: “No need for thanks!! Just call me, Boss!! Hahaha!!”

Feng Luotian turned serious: “I truly thank you for putting your life on the line in saving Yue’er.”

Then he tenderly caressed Mei Yue’er’s cheek while reminiscing their old days.

Never seen such action by his brother before, Sun Wuji teasingly commented.

“Brother Feng, don’t tell me that after what happened, you have finally developed a feeling for Sister Mei!!”

Feng Luotian: “You’re joking, Brother Sun.”

After a slight pause, he continued: “I have been in love with her for a very long … long time.”

Feng Luotian saw no harm in telling it as it was, but not to Sun Wuji, he did not expect that his friend would honestly admit it. “!? … Wow, Brother Feng!! Since when did you become this direct? But you know, right? She has tons of pursuers following her skirt every day. It will be difficult for you to secure your position as her partner. Anyway … This is going to be very interesting!! I am rooting for you, Brother Feng!! Hahaha!!”

Feng Luotian only gave a smile to Sun Wuji’s mischievous remark. As long as she was alive and well, all other things were insignificant.
