chapter 87 – Back To Underbroom Cave

At first, three spears made of green energy manifested and shot towards the Master Batilor. Then, within moments, a wave of blackish-green energy aura blasted the creature. He was hit by the three green spears and then an energy aura but before the impact of this could even be realized, a green hand manifested in the sky, making a sign. The sign was simple but powerful Nick could feel energy coming from the sign is dangerous

Master Batilor who was already in terrible shape vibrated with high frequency and then simply vanished. Had he been made from nature, this would be the proverbial case of ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

Nick who watched all the things unfold soon understood the difference between the three spells Foria cast. On its face, the spells did not seem to be interlinked with each other but in reality, they were indeed connected.

Nick was amused as he commented.

“He used Chain Spells.”

Chain Spells are spells that use a set of rules and power each other to achieve a desired cumulative effect.

Nick believed that without the first two spells of ‘Forest Energy Spears’ and ‘Forest Energy Negative Aura’, the third spell, ‘Forest Energy Banishment’, which should have some kind of a powerful instant effect, would not work.

This was why Nick believed that Foria used a Chain Spell.

Without the first two spells, the last spell would be ineffective or may not even be used.

This seemed like a big disadvantage but there were several plus points as well. If the caster was capable of connecting the first two spells, the third spell would connect and pass through the defences of the enemy. At the same time, it would be too powerful.

Foria finally let out a breath and then turned his head to Lalia. Noticing that she was still fighting against the final remaining enemy commander, he remembered Nick and turned his head to Epsilon. It was only now that he realized Nick had long finished his battle and was watching them.

Noticing Epsilon’s behavior and power, Foria made a mental note.

“He is most likely more powerful than me, considering his abilities. I need to be more careful in dealing with him.”

Nick smiled and without saying anything, turned to observe Lalia.

Lalia was using simple spells to tire out her enemy. Her opponent was a female Batilor and she too was a mage.

Lalia was using Forest Energy Arrows, Forest Energy Shield and other kinds of medium strength summons to tire out her enemy.

The female Batilor Mage was blocking the attacks using a kind of bone-type spell and counter-attacking using blood energy spells.

As a spectator, Nick could see that the female Batilor Mage was better when it came to using and controlling magical spells. But she was not Lalia’s opponent when it came to battle experience against enemies. This alone would be her downfall.

It seemed that the female Batilor Mage was always protected by others in such fights and did not enter too many battles in her life by herself.

Foria came to Epsilon’s side and started talking.

“What do you think?”

Epsilon smiled and answered.

“Their power and expertise are different. One of them has simple magic spells and uses them to tire out her enemy, making her opponent waste magical energy. The other has strong spells and a good foundation to cast them but does not have any experience when it comes to battle. She is using strong spells but they are easy to dodge and she is consuming too much magical energy.”

Foria nodded in agreement and silently watched the battle. His thoughts were the same as Epsilon’s. The reason he asked this question was to get a sense of Nick’s observation and thought process.

In effect, Foria wanted to know how much Nick understood others and analyzed their powers.

Around 20 minutes later, the female Batilor Mage had expended all her magic energy and died at Lalia’s hands. Soon after, Lalia came back to Foria and Epsilon’s side. Her power was weaker and she was harmed a bit but in return, she killed a mage stronger than herself, in a one-on-one battle. Sustaining light injuries was understandable.

As the dust settled, Nick looked at Foria and began his farewell from this island. What he wanted to do in this place was finished for now. He would be visiting this island later but now he had to return and start setting up an organization or establishment as his future course of action.

He needed something to his name to generate resources and other things. He cannot just create spells and sell magical items to earn Ether Stones. He needed to make things systematic and expand the matters he was involved in.

Nick needed to be a one-man army without needing anyone to protect him or relying on anyone to earn Ether Stones and upgrade his power.

Nick took a deep breath, closed his eyes and smiled.

After he finished talking with Foria, he left the island and found a place that had no living beings or hidden dangers.

He closed his eyes and activated the Portal Teleportation.

Nick vanished in blue light and opened his eyes.

As the vision in front of him cleared, he sighed with relief and commented.

“It is good I faced no problems in teleporting back.”

Nick was in front of the Underbroom Cave. As he was celebrating the portal teleportation’s success and his return, he noticed Rabial was looking at him from the cave’s entrance.

Rabial looked injured and defeated. He was all alone.

Nick frowned slightly and quickly went to his side. But before he even had the chance to ask anything, Rabial started talking.

“Other than myself, all other members of our small team are dead. I was injured in a battle. Can we go back to the base now? I need to rest and help.”

Nick did not ask any questions and touched Rabial’s shoulder. His white rabbit fur was soaked in the blood of some creature. Nick did not wait for a second longer and a blue portal opened up and engulfed Nick and Rabial, teleporting them directly to Werfur Base – Anderium.

I can’t believe you yourself translated novel and ask these questions. The only reason he is nice to MENG is for the reason he gave, in the dream his mother is on the funeral home floor mourning his death and remembering that he had died without having been married or had children, thus there is not even a grandchild to comfort his mother. This recollection was why he softened and told his mother he would try with Meng Suxu – as for Shen girl he obviously wants her, he’s sexually attracted to her to the point of distraction, yet he neither wants to force her or beg for sex, he wants her to willingly give him her body and soul, he wants all of her and only her all others mean nothing and do nothing for him. This is the crux of his heart pain it represents his passion for her without her he is the walking dead cold aloof rigid and regimented, only facts matter.after he meets her this all changes he is both tormented and confused by dreams of her that he does not understand, he has just met her by chance and feels unbearable heart pain when she cries. He recognises her as the mysterious woman in his dreams but Why? he’s s man who has always been in control but now he’s at the mercy of a 16 year old girl. At this point he is not aware of their past in previous lives as reincarnation is a concept be doesn’t believe in, so he’s desperately trying to control her in an attempt to regain control over himself

I agree with everything, except I can understand a little why he’s acting like this with MSX. His mother kind of forced his hand so he has to be nice but he has no patience for MSX and add to that his current annoyance with SZ and he is fed up with everythinh. Also, I guess I’d be annoyed too if someone pestered me everytime I step through the door (after a day of work) like MSX does

He is so typical type a guy from his time. An arrogant, sexist ass who thinks the world revolves around him.

LY has surely a long way to go before he becomes a decent human being who treats women fairly. I don’t dislike him too much at this point, he is mostly a man of his time who thinks women are inferior and little worthy of care. Besides, I love the novel Dreamer in the spring buodoir where the male lead is even worse in terms of how he views and treats women, so I cant dislike LY
