Chapter 99 – War Machine – Model 3

The invader side had three generals — the Lord of Anderium, the Werfur Base Anderium Leader Warin and also a creature from the depths of the Anderium Forest, that did not want any power or glory, called Spectator.

While both Leader Warin and Spectator’s magical powers were at Expert Level 1 or Magister Level, which was formidable enough, the Lord of Anderium was at a level higher than them.

These three were still holding at the back of the line, observing the first wave of battle. Spectator was a humanoid creature that had a lizard head and big glowing green eyes. The Lord of Anderium was a blue-colored snake-type creature, slithering around with its long and sturdy body.

As they were watching a spell created by Leader Warin, they looked at each other, and Spectator commented.

“There seems to be a tenacious mage among them crushing hordes of low-leveled monsters.”

The Lord of Anderium nodded at this and looked at Warin.

Leader Warin replied truthfully.

“That is Epsilon, a genius human mage who recently had a Golden Document with the Werfur race; it was signed at our base.”

When Warin said these words, there was a trace of unwillingness on his face but the experienced leader restored his calm expression in a second.

This information though shocked the others. These were the old knowledgeable creatures of the forest who knew about the crucial things in this world.

The Golden Document of the Werfur race was not a toy. It was most definitely not something given to just any race, especially the humans.

It seems that the connection between this human mage, Epsilon, and the Werfurs is more than they think.

“What kind of spell is he using to kill our creatures?”

Spectator asked this as he watched to battle ongoing.

Leader Warin answered.

“He has created this spell himself; he created every spell he uses. This particular spell is called Sonic Bullet. It shoots magical energy at the speed of sound, creating a potent penetrating force.”

After listening to Leader Warin’s explanation, Spectator and Lord of Anderium simply nodded. Being strong creatures at very high magical levels, they could understand the theoretical knowledge behind the power and spell Nick was deploying.

Leader Warin had never asked Rabial anything about Epsilon’s powers or the likes. Everything he knew about the young human mage came directly from his understanding of Epsilon.

“It is too bad he has to die today because of his race.”

The Lord of Anderium said nonchalantly, clearing everyone’s thoughts and any sympathy they had towards Nick.

Leader Warin and Spectator did not add to this. Spectator, however, took a deep breath and used magical energy to issue an order.

“Send the War Machines”

With his command, an earth-shaking roar spread across the Anderium Forest, indicating that Spectator’s order was executed.

Nick slaughtered and maimed many creatures using his new spell.

This much magical energy consumption was nothing to him. While he was still going strong, he and the other mages on the wall heard a thunderous roar, followed by a mechanical sound. Then they saw some tall trees at the border of Anderium Forest falling one by one and three flying objects headed straight towards the Blue Tear City wall.

The three machines, shaped like cones, were black and white in color. Their length was around eight meters and their width was three to four meters. They were flying about 15 meters above the ground.

Since Nick was also still fighting from a higher altitude, he was able to inspect one of the flying objects.

‘War Machine – Model 3 (Werfur Race)’

‘Level – Student Level 3’

‘Description’

‘A flying machine created by Werfur Race’

‘Capabilities’

‘Energy Bolt (Improved)’

‘Flying (via Magic Energy Thrusters) (Levitation via Magic Energy Gravity)’

‘Energy Shield (Bronze and Iron Powered)’

Nick commented with a small chuckle.

“I knew that they were hiding things but this surpasses my expectations! They actually created technological war machines using magical energy.”

At this time, at the tip of one of the War Machines Model 3, blue energy concentrated and within two seconds, a sizeable energy bolt shot towards the city wall.

It hit the wall within four seconds and dealt a significant amount of damage. If the same spot was hit again, it would leave a 15-meter gap.

A single blast of this energy bolt was sufficient to slay dragons and destroy ordinary walls.

Without any time lapse between the attacks, the other three War Machines – Model 3, started bombarding the same spot.

It took barely 10 seconds for a large hole to open up close to Nick, and some of the mages stationed on the wall fell to their deaths.

Nick took a deep breath and whispered.

“Combine – Sonic Bullet – Vacuum Bomb.”

“One-Time-Only.”

As Nick said these words, the system sent him a message.

‘Sonic Bullet and Vacuum Bomb spells will be combined for one-time-only.’

‘30% speed of ‘bullet’, 40% less damage of ‘Vacuum Bomb’.’

Nick discovered this combination’s existence when he returned from the Stone World. At that time, he realized he could combine spells with each other but doing so, would make both the spells less impactful and reduce their power.

For Nick, however, it was alright to use it like this as he was not scared of any meaningless magical expenditure.

After creating what he wanted, Nick eyed one of the War Machines and smiled as he whispered.

“Shoot the Combined Spell.”

With his whisper, a wisp of energy light shot towards the War Machine – Model 3 that was in the middle of the other three. Within moments, the machine was hit and exploded to the smithereens even killing some other creatures on the ground because of the debris falling on the ground.

The human mages looked at Epsilon with shock; the monsters on the ground looked at him with terror.

At this time, one of the young mages on the wall screamed.

“We have a powerful Magister mage among us. We don’t need to be scared of any monsters; kill them all, show them the power of the humans and our unity.”

The actions on-ground and the young mage’s words were enough to charge all the warriors up. They began a frenzied attack on the other War Machines. They thought that Epsilon was a Magister Level Mage (Exper Level 1) because of his combined-spell effect, destroying the war machine in a single spell.
