Chapter 28: Happiness

Qi Yan opened the door to his room and said to Cen Baihe, “I’m home.”

After putting on his room slippers, he threw himself on the soft sofa, “There was someone else in the elevator just now so I couldn’t ask. Besides your appetite, has your sleep improved?”

Based on his knowledge, Cen Baihe’s sleep quality was not great.

Cen Baihe squinted as he watched the sun set and curved his lips slightly, “I have been sleeping well these days.” Only someone who had insomnia knew how good it felt to be able to sleep through the night.

He hadn’t told Qi Yan about his insomnia, but he seemed to know about it and asked about it straightforwardly.

Is this how friends communicate?

“That’s great,” Qi Yan relaxed and said, “I’ll send you a peace charm soon. Put it under your pillow, it will help you sleep better.”

“Sure, I’ll come over tomorrow.” Cen Baihe was looking forward to seeing Qi Yan’s home.

“Sure.” Qi Yan stretched his arm and took a biscuit from the coffee table. As he was about to put it in his mouth, he remembered that he was still on the phone and put it back.

“Then see you tomorrow.” Cen Baihe hung up and smiled helplessly at the screen.

First Master Cen looked at his watch. His brother was on the phone for more than 10 minutes talking about non-work related topics. He was shocked.

“Baihe,” First Master Cen waved at his brother. “Come down for dinner.”

Cen Baihe’s appetite had been exceptionally good recently. Even the family doctor said that his health had improved. So everyone was happy. They hoped that his appetite would remain like this and he would live a long life.

Cen Baihe just noticed his brother and nodded. After putting the phone on the bedside table, he went downstairs.

Dinner today at the Cen’s family was rich. Third Master Cen who had been working in another city was transferred back, so they held a special family dinner. Third Master Cen and his wife finally believed that Cen Baihe had indeed become healthier after seeing his appetite.

After dinner, Third Master Cen looked for Cen Qiusheng and said happily, “Dad, Baihe seems better. Which hospital did he go to that has such effective treatment?”

Cen Qiusheng shook his head and didn’t answer his son. He remembered that his face was so pale the day he came out of the hospital. But ever since they came back from the ancestral house, his condition suddenly improved. Then, after coming home drenched the other day, he became even better. It’s as though someone had changed his life.

Thinking about this, his eyes twitched slightly. As a father, he loved his son, but fate-changing was harmful to others. He had thought of doing this before, but he couldn’t bear to harm innocent people in order to extend his son’s life.

There was nothing the doctors and the masters could do. Just as he was about to give up, Baihe’s condition suddenly improved. Could it be that heaven wouldn’t let a parent watch his child pass, so Baihe’s health improved?

“What’s wrong?” Third Master Cen saw that his dad’s expression changed and his eldest brother did not say anything. “This has nothing to do with the hospital?”

He suddenly thought of what his second sister said. His dad had invited a few masters to study Feng Shui at their ancestral house. Even though he didn’t believe these things, he didn’t object. Perhaps in his heart, he hoped that there would be a miracle, so he ignored his dad’s actions.

“Changgu, I remember the day at the ancestral house, you were with Master Qi the whole time,” Cen Qiusheng said suddenly, “Did Master Qi do anything special at that time?”

He knew more about the other four masters, it must be true when they said that there was no way to solve it. The only person he didn’t know well was Master Qi. Although Master Qi was young, he didn’t seem like an ordinary person, because his eyes were so lively that he couldn’t stare at them for too long.

“I didn’t notice anything special. I accompanied him to the mountain that day to look at the scenery behind the ancestral house, then we came down.” First Master Cen, whose name was Cen Changgu, shook his head, and then he added, “But we met Baihe as we were coming down and Master Qi asked Baihe to extend his hand.”

“And he agreed?” Cen Qiusheng was a little surprised. He remembered that his youngest son was not interested in these superstitions, so when he invited the masters to visit the ancestral house, he had deliberately concealed it from him. Coincidentally, Baihe just came back from the hospital that day.

First Master Cen nodded, “Baihe was warm and friendly towards Master Qi. It didn’t seem like he was repulsed.”

“Who’s Master Qi?” Third Master Cen looked suspiciously at Cen Qiusheng, “Dad, you’re not saying that Master Qi cured Baihe?”

Even though he didn’t believe in Feng Shui, he knew about the famous masters in Capital City. He had never heard of Master Qi.

Cen Qiusheng paused for some time and said, “It would be great if that’s true.”

If Master Qi really had a solution, why did he agree with the other masters when he asked? But if it’s not him, who else could it be?

If it’s him, what did he do to change Baihe’s fate? Based on what he knew, all methods used to change fate would cause harm to innocent people.

“Dad?”

Cen Qiusheng waved his hand, “I am not too sure, but I’ll ask Baihe about it.” As a father, he hoped his son would live long, but as the leader of the Cen family, he didn’t want it to be obtained at someone else’s expense.

Seeing that their father looked tired, First and Third Master Cen left the room to let him rest.

“First brother, third brother,” Cen Baihe saw his brothers standing in front of their father’s door when he came out of his room, “It’s late, why are you still up?”

“I just came back, so I thought I’d chat a little longer with dad and First Brother,” Third Master Cen walked to the front of Cen Baihe and looked at him gently but worriedly, “Can’t sleep again?”

He wasn’t sure if his eyesight was not good, but Baihe’s face had become fleshier.

“No, I’ve been sleeping well recently,” Cen Baihe pretended not to notice his brothers’ uncomfortable expressions, “I’m just getting some water. Don’t stay up too late.”

“Ok,” Third Brother Cen watched his brother’s back and added, “Don’t drink too much water before bed.”

“Mm.”

His brother grunted in acknowledgement. Third Master Cen looked at his older brother and said, “I think Baihe’s personality is too cold. Young people should be more lively.”

First Master Cen shrugged, “Why don’t you talk to him?” Their brothers had been like that since he was young. He no longer tried to change him.

Third Master Cen: “…”

Lin Yu felt that her body was not feeling well recently, but she was lucky enough to see an eye candy every morning when she went for a run.

Some men, even when wearing a conservative white t-shirt and pants, were like walking aphrodisiacs,

Just like the one in front of her at the moment. Even though the buttons on his shirt were all buttoned-up and his hair was combed neatly, he looked sexy. His face was slightly pale and his movements were elegant, just like a handsome prince.

She saw a muscular man standing behind the handsome man pressed on the 7th floor button, while the cute boy was holding a bag containing his breakfast. She felt like she was not standing in an elevator, but a magnificent palace.

“Excuse me miss, which floor are you going?” The muscular man’s voice was hoarse but he sounded polite.

Lin Yu was too shy to let him press the button, so she did it herself with a red face. She didn’t know why but she felt like this handsome man was looking for the cute boy that she met last time. Perhaps when the cute boy was trapped in the elevator, he was the one who was talking to him on the phone.

Realizing that she was fantasizing again, Lin Yu pinched herself to sober up. She shouldn’t do such a rude thing. The elevator soon reached the sixth floor. Lin Yu walked out of the elevator and turned to look back. It’s a pity that the handsome man did not look at her at all, he was completely indifferent.

When Qi Yan was woken up by a knock. His first thought was that his friend came to disturb him again. But when he noticed the purple mist seeping into the door, he knew immediately who the person was.

Cen Baihe looked at Qi Yan’s door. Two red scrolls were hung by the door. There were handwritten words on it. No matter how he looked at it, it didn’t seem like a place a “master” would live in, but an ordinary citizen.

At this moment, the door opened. Qi Yan, with his messy curly hair and who was still wearing his pajamas, stood at the door and smiled vibrantly at him, “Morning.”

“Morning,” Seeing Qi Yan’s smile, Cen Baihe felt like his mood had improved a lot, “Have I disturbed your sleep?”

“No, I wake up normally at this time,” Qi Yan put the breakfast that Cen Baihe brought on the table and looked for two room slippers in the cabinet, “Please sit, I’ll go freshen up.”

Cen Baihe smiled and changed into the slippers. He started to plate the breakfast that he brought. The bodyguard saw that his actions were awkward so he couldn’t help but offer, “Fifth Master, let me do it.”

“No need.” Cen Baihe placed the chopsticks and looked at the plating in front of him. He felt a sense of satisfaction.

The bodyguard mumbled in his heart that Fifth Master had never done this before and that it’s so rare to plate his own breakfast.

Qi Yan came out after he freshened up. Seeing that Cen Baihe had plated the food, he smelled the fragrant scent of corn porridge in the air. He sat down beside Cen Baihe and smiled, “You didn’t have to buy breakfast.”

Even though he said that, he had already picked up his chopsticks.

Cen Baihe watched as Qi Yan ate happily. The corners of his mouth curled up.

It turned out that making a friend so happy would also make him happy.
