C85 – Arranged Marriage

He Siming was smart enough to read Wen Shuyue’s mind at once. They had a discussion and reached an agreement before taking it into action.

The video of the quarrel between Wen Shuyue and the teacher blew up on social media again. The name of the kindergarten was exposed along with many inside stories. One of them was that some teachers dated with several rich married men at the same time.

Soon after the exposure, the kindergarten received withdrawal applications successively. In no way would parents send their children to such a kindergarten. Even those children who just got enrolled required to transfer to other kindergartens.

This once famed private kindergarten had its reputation spoiled and came under fire. Consequently, the teachers and principal had to wear masks to keep incognito when going out.

Wen Shuyue went to He Siming’s house with her son’s favorite snacks in order to comfort her son. She then said, “This is the nemesis for insulting my son. Baobao, does it make you feel better?” However, Wen Baobao was totally lost in the games. “Uh-huh. You’re the best mom in the world, Mommy,” Wen Baobao replied insincerely as he played games.

Wen Shuyue was rendered speechless while she complained inwardly, “Can you at least take a look at me?”

Wen Shuyue couldn’t help rolling her eyes. Since she entered the room, her son had barely shifted his eyes from the screen.

It seemed Wen Shuyue was even less important than the games to Wen Baobao, which upset her a little bit. Then she just walked out for a walk, apparently mad at her son.

After Wen Shuyue went out of the room, Wen Baobao gave his father a call immediately. Wen Baobao reported the situation in whispers, “Daddy, Mommy just left my room. If you want to ask her out, ask her now.”

Upon finishing his words, Wen Baobao hung up, leaving no chance for He Siming to speak.

He Siming was quite confused about what his son meant at first. When He Siming came across Wen Shuyue, he curled up the corners of his mouth into an imperceptible smile.

“Sir, Mrs. Gong was back today. She sent an invitation to you.”

The butler walked to He Siming briskly when He Siming was going downstairs to talk to Wen Shuyue. However, the invitation from Mrs. Gong was the last thing that He Siming could turn down.

He Siming fixed his eyes on Wen Shuyue before he shifted the gaze reluctantly. Then he said, “Hmm, I’ll go right away.

“What about Miss Wen? You’d better talk to her,” the butler said with concern. After all, he could tell that He Siming treated Wen Shuyue in a special way, so the butler didn’t wish to see any misunderstanding between them.

He Siming was also thinking about that. A little later, he just walked off instead of going to Wen Shuyue.

“Mr…” the butler tried to say something. But He Siming already left the house, so the butler just went after He Siming silently.

In the mean time, Wen Shuyue was walking around, hoping that she could run into He Siming, but she didn’t eventually.

She felt a little upset because she didn’t meet He Siming as she expected for today’s visit. Wen Shuyue took a deep breath. On the way back to her son’s room, she overheard the maids’ conversation.

“Do you know that Mrs. Gong is back? Mr. He is on the way to meet her. Will they talk about the marriage? Mrs. Gong wants it so much that Mr. He marries Miss Gong.”

“Nine out of ten. Miss Gong and Mr. He are a lovely match. If they are together, it’ll be beneficial to both families.”

“You got a point. But I feel so sorry for Miss Wen. After all, she’s Baobao’s real mother. I’m afraid Baobao is gonna have a hard life if he lives with his future step-mother.”

“Yeah, right.”

The maids kept discussing. Wen Shuyue had been nice to them, so they liked her pretty much and hoped that she would become their woman of the house. However, no one could turn down an arranged marriage.

Their words impressed Wen Shuyue deeply. She knew exactly He Siming was out of her league. They were from different classes of human with different points of view. If they were really together, they might end up apart because of various reasons.

After all, they were in two parallel lines which never had a junction.

“Mommy.”

Before Wen Shuyue realized, Wen Baobao showed up. Probably knowing that He Siming had already left the house, Wen Baobao held his mother by the hands to give her some warmth.

This little act touched Wen Shuyue a lot. She squatted down to touch her son’s face before she said, pretending to be strong, “Baobao, don’t worry about me. I’m fine. I’m totally fine.”

“But Daddy will hang out with another woman. Don’t you feel sad, Mommy?” Wen Baobao complained with an obvious unpleasant look. Then he added, “I hate Daddy so much now. He’s thinking about getting married already. Mommy, you should find a husband, too. I don’t want to see you alone.”

Well, was it really a good idea?

Wen Shuyue couldn’t help twitching the corners of her mouth. Instead of comforting her, Wen Baobao even persuaded his mother to find a husband, which was not what Wen Shuyue expected. Wen Baobao had really surprising ideas.

After staying in Mr. He’s house for a while, Wen Shuyue was reluctant to leave.

Even though Wen Baobao had lived in his father’s house for some time, Wen Shuyue still looked for her son when she got home every day, as she used to do . But she ended up being disappointed every time she failed to see Wen Baobao at home. To her, the last bit of warmth was taken away.

Bang! “Wen Shuyue, get the hell out of your house. I know you’re there.”

Lu Junhan’s shout rang outside soon after Wen Shuyue got home. She was astonished why this crazy guy looked for her even though she hadn’t provoked him lately.

She sneaked to the door but didn’t open it. Pretending to be calm, she said to the door, “What is it? If it’s nothing important, please go back.”

“Of course it’s something important. Weiwei lost the baby after you pushed her down. I have to settle scores with you. Open the damn door,” Lu Junhan said horribly with hatred.
