Chapter 123: Forgetting One’s Mother After Having a Wife

The woman at the doorway is wearing a red dress with her hair tied in an elegant bun.  She looks extravagant.

That woman, who looks as though she is only in her thirties, looks very similar to Si Zheng Ting.

The way she stands there itself is very attention-grabbing.

Zhuang Nai Nai takes a deep breath when she sees that figure.

She grasps her fists as her body involuntarily shudders.

It is her, Ding Mengya.  Si Zheng Ting’s mother, and Zhuang Nai Nai’s nightmare.

Zhuang Nai Nai stands there without moving.  It feels as though time has stopped.

Zhuang Nai Nai looks at her as a trace of hatred flashes in her eyes.

She hates her so much, but she is the mother of the man that she loves.

Zhuang Nai Nai does not know how to face her.

She finds Ding Mengya’s eyes falling onto her.  Their eyes are locked onto each other, as though spouting fire.

Then, Ding Mengya looks away and turns her eyes to the person behind Zhuang Nai Nai, the leisurely walking Si Zheng Ting.

Her expressionless and sharp face immediately blossoms in joy, “You rotten brat, you wouldn’t visit me!  In the end, I had to invite myself over so that I could see you.”

Although Si Zheng Ting looks completely unperturbed, it is obvious that his face has eased down a little.  He walks next to Zhuang Nai Nai and says, “En.”

Ding Mengya: ………………

Ding Mengya clears her throat before she smiles brightly at Zhuang Nai Nai, “Aren’t you going to introduce me to your beautiful wife?  Why are you trying to hide her from me?”

Si Zheng Ting turns around and points at Zhuang Nai Nai, “Gu Qing Yan.”  Then, he looks at Ding Mengya before speaking to Zhuang Nai Nai, “She’s my mother, Ding Mengya.”

Ding Mengya walks towards them with her high heels before outstretching her hand to Zhuang Nai Nai, “The name Qing Yan suits you very much.  No wonder this brat forgot his mother the moment he’s got a wife.  I heard you have only returned to your family after years of not knowing your own identity.  It doesn’t matter, the past is the past.  The most important thing is to live well with Zheng Ting.”

Upon a glance, her words seem a little heavy.

Si Zheng Ting frowns as he ponders over his mother’s words.  Ding Mengya continues, “But, if he doesn’t treat you well, you can come to me.  I will help you relieve your anger.”

This witty manner is more like Lady Ding’s way of speaking.

Zhuang Nai Nai looks at Ding Mengya while biting her lips.  Had she not known better, she would have forgot that this woman was the same woman who said all those words to her, five years back.

Turns out, she maintains this kind of façade in front of her son.  No wonder Si Zheng Ting was protective of her.

Besides, what she said just now might not mean very much to other people, but Zhuang Nai Nai knows, the ‘the past is the past, the most important thing is to live well with Zheng Ting’ was her way of warning her.
