Chapter 159: Zhuang Nai Nai is Drunk

Zhuang Nai Nai stumbles a little as Si Zheng Ting drags her away.  She has to jog to keep up with Si Zheng Ting’s pace as they walk through the corridor.

The level of her alcohol tolerance is not very high.  She is the type that gets light-headed after two glasses of drinks.  The way she is getting dragged around and the way the cold wind hits her makes her head feels really light.  Her vision turns dark.

She shakes her head, trying her best to clear her head.  She is determined to talk it out with Si Zheng Ting tonigt.

She purses her lips but does not know what to say.  She grabs Si Zheng Ting’s hand tight.

Si Zheng Ting continues walking off and she continues following him like a puppy.

The driver opens the car’s door for them.

Both of them quietly board the car.

Her eyes feel heavy and her head keeps dropping down.

No!  No!

She must stay conscious!

Zhuang Nai Nai slaps herself in the cheeks.  She looks at Si Zheng Ting, wanting to say something, but changes her mind when she sees his expressionless face.

And so, the atmosphere in the car remains quiet in a weird way.  The driver really wish he has the ability to turn into thin air.

Si Zheng Ting stares out of the window without any expression on his face.

There is that air of loneliness in him as he stares into the midnight sky.

There are many times in this week that he wanted to call Lady Ding to ask her what happened five years ago. In the end, he always talked himself out of it.  He wants to see when Zhuang Nai Nai will look for him.  He wants to know what she will say to defend herself.

Besides, he was really angry.  He didn’t want to take it out on her, that was why he waited until tonight, once he has cooled off.

He sighs deeply.

One is the mother that he really respect, while the other is the lover that he loves so deeply.

He does not dare to know the truth.

It doesn’t matter which one of them is right or wrong, it is hard for him just the same.

He uses his uninjured hand to take off the first button on his shirt.

Then, he speaks with a low tone, “Speak.”

No reply comes for the longest time.

He freezes a little before turning to look at her, only to find her asleep next to him.

She is resting her head on the headrest, her hair in utter disarray and her mouth open.  With the help of the dim light inside the car, he can see dark circles adoring her eyes.  She hasn’t been sleeping these days?

Si Zheng Ting stares at her, softening up.

When her head is about to slide off the seat, he quickly puts her head on his shoulder, so that she can lean on him.

Zhuang Nai Nai does not know how she got into the room.

When she wakes up blearily, her head feels heavy and her eyelids feel droopy.  She does not know what the time is or where she even is.

The room is very dim, the only source of light is the bedside lamp.  When she realizes that she is in familiar territory, she gradually calms down.

She sits up and starts thinking.

The last thing she remembers is getting into the car with Si Zheng Ting.  She wanted to explain everything to him, but his expressionless face scared her off.

She knocks herself in the head repeatedly.  Why was she such a coward?   Why didn’t she say anything?
