Unpredictable Encounters

“Dwarven Master!”

Jadis was inside his house doing some chores here and there when he heard a voice from outside.

He opened the door and saw three young elves.

“Oh, kids, what are we up to? You know, I am too old to be able to play with you,” said Jadis with a bright and warm smile that shows gentleness and love to the young elves.

“Mr. Levi is back!” said the three kids in unison.

“Oh, that’s a good hide and seek game, but that was a serious matter. You can’t make a joke about that. Mr. Levi was a good guy.” he replied.

“No, Dwarven Master! We really saw him going to the residential area!” They said with confidence.

“Hehehe, you children. You can’t fool me, hahaha!” Jadis laughed but then stopped as he realized something.

He looked at the three young elves. They do not look like they were joking! Their eyes were serious.

“Okay. I will be there. You guys can go play somewhere else. If I discovered that you were making a fool out of me, I would feed you to the monsters on Jangar5JangarThe place in the center most of Ashenborn. It is inhabited by dangerous monsters. Also called the Land of Monsters..” He jokingly scared the children, yet they didn’t flinch. They were firm in what they have said.

“We’re not fooling you, Dwarven Master! Believe us!” said one of the young elf at the center. His angry yet cute voice warmed Jadis’ heart.

“Okay, okay. I will go now,” said Jadis.

“This is my house. I am the one who should ask. WHO ARE YOU?!” Levi asked the unknown man behind the shadows inside his house.

“Levi?!” the man said.

“You know me?” Levi asked.

“Levi, is it really you?” then the man emerged from the dark. It was a dwarf that Levi is familiar with. Its Jeff!

“Jeff?!”

“Levi?! It’s really you!” Jeff jumped to hugged him and then cried.

“I thought you were dead! I’m sorry I left you in that dangerous forest. If only I didn’t bring you there….” Jeff didn’t finish his words. He just cried out of remorse.

Though dwarves were little, it was compensated by their big hearts. This trait made them lovable. Their sincerity with their words and actions are just incomparable.

Levi comforted him. “Stop crying. You haven’t done anything wrong. You didn’t leave me. The orc kicked you, so you fell into the cliff. I am the one who should be apologizing because first, I am the one who requested you to accompany me, and second I made you worry so badly that you became like this.”

Several moments later, Levi was in the middle of consoling Jeff when a sudden voice rang from outside.

“Levi!” It was the Dwarven Master. He was catching his breath. He probably ran to get here.

“Mr. Jadis!” said Levi in surprise.

“You’re really here. You’re alive!” said Jadis, full of excitement and happiness.

Although Levi has been on Natura7NaturaThe country which was founded by the Elven-Dwarves alliance. only, this didn’t hinder their hospitality to him. They even treated him as part of their huge family. They were just plain good beings.

“It is regrettable that they have been viewed by humans as violent and merciless creatures. I should do something about that when I had the chance. They don’t deserve to be treated like that. They’re more kind and pure than what most humans can.” said Levi to his mind.

Then the three took their time and chat with each other until the sun turned orange as it goes down over the horizon.

They bid farewell to each other with a clear face of gladness.

Levi was back again at his bed. Even if it was just months, it was nostalgic for him. Natura has been a part of him. This is the first place that accepted and helped him after he reincarnated.

Then he pondered about his personal life.

“I should kill the one who put the curse…” Then, Levi gripped his hand, and veins started to pop up.

Several hours later. The sun has already set. Its bright ray goes through Levi’s window, causing him to wake up. He didn’t expect that he will immediately sleep last night. That was fatigue. It backlashed to him.

Levi got up and goes outside his house on the way to Jadis’.

When they were chatting yesterday, Levi talked to Jadis and asked him to gather essential people to make an important meeting.

From far, he can already see Jadis, Jeff, and Garde waiting for him near the Mother Tree.

They greeted each other, and Jadis offered to go inside his house.

In a room, there is a long rectangular wooden table with nine chairs. There already people sitting on five chairs. Caleb the Elven Mage, Jacob of the Mines, Maris the Elven Queen, and two other elves, a man and a woman. The woman being Alexa, the Bowmaster, and the man is Sirius the Swordmaster. Caleb, Jeff, Garde, and Levi sat on the available chairs.

These persons were some of the most influential people of Natura that handles important matters.

“We are gathered here to talk about important matters. We all know that there is an impending war against the newly formed alliance of Orcs and Ogres. Their brute strength alone is scary, but now their numbers increased. We are in a very critical situation.” said Jadis while emphasizing the critical points.

“This man right here is Mr. Levi. He had something to say to us so let us hear him out with respect.” Jadis added. He introduced Levi to the people around him.

Levi stood up and bowed. “Valheimis9ValheimisIt is a form of greeting in the land of Ashenborn. It has multiple meanings depending on the context it was used. It can mean good morning, good afternoon, good evening, hi or hello., everyone. I am here to help. I have plans to help us in the upcoming war—”

He was interrupted by a manly voice. It was Sirius.

“Wait. You are a human. We don’t know if we can trust you,” said Sirius with doubt to Levi’s intentions.

“Sirius!” Maris looked at him with furrowed eyes.

“I’m so sorry, Elven Queen. But I am just concerned about our country. What if that man is a traitor sent by the humans to plot against us and kill us for them to get their revenge on us for something we didn’t do?!” Sirius insisted.

“I am not a traitor. I genuinely want to help.” Levi answered back at him.

Sirius looked at him from head to toe.

“Can you look at yourself!? You don’t look good. I bet you can’t even fight, let alone help us!” he said as he mocked Levi.

“You bet?”
