Guo Sichen was sitting inside the passenger seat of his black car. He rolled the windows down, bet felt that it was still too stuffy that he went outside the car. He leaned on it while waiting.
He was waiting for his assistant, Zhao Lei who went back up to his apartment to retrieve the documents that he almost forgot on his desk. Fortunately, he was still outside his apartment complex when he recalled his documents.
Guo Sichen was now steadily rising in the business world. Within just three years of his management of a subsidiary under Ji Corporation, it has established itself as a top leading company in China.
Right after his graduation, Mr. Ji handed the management of the Ji Security Group to him as a test. Ji Security Group’s reputation now even exceeded its parent company. It was the top private security company in Asia, now expanding to Europe too. It could be said that he was more than competent to manage even Ji Corporation but he wanted to focus on Ji Security Group first.
He felt a bit grateful. After all, this was all possible due to the Sun Family. He was particularly thankful to them. He remembered that it was their young mistress who wanted to support their orphanage, he felt a bit baffled how she even found out about their orphanage at her age back then.
There were a lot of other orphanages that needed more help than them, and if they wanted to do that just for the publicity, the chances of their orphanage being picked weren’t even high. Greenfield Orphanage was neither struggling or well-known in particular.
And Old Master Sun recommended them to the Ji couple too.
Because of that, when he saw the Mayor Sun requested a bodyguard for his daughter, he immediately sent one of his best and in-demand bodyguards. It could be said that it was a silent thanks, paying back what he owed them.
It wasn’t particularly easy for just anyone to request a bodyguard from them. Ji Security Group was both a feared and in-demand company. It was said that their services are top-notched and they provide security for anyone, even the lowest of the scums as long as they could afford it. People who know better knew that the Ji Company has a lot of connection in the underworld. It was even rumored that the heir was a bloodthirsty tyrant.
Song Lan was grumpy from having to wake up early. It was the start of her second semester already. Waking up early wasn’t exactly her favorite. But remembering that she’ll get to see Tian Zhelan she took extra care of her appearance. But she still had a scowl on her face. Zhelan wasn’t there to see her anyway.
She walked out of the apartment complex, looking for a black car with a guy in a suit. What do bodyguards look like anyway?
She caught sight of one just like how she predicted. The bodyguard was leaning on the door with his face down, seemingly waiting.
Wanting to go right away, she just went inside the passenger seat wordlessly, not bothering to greet the bodyguard due to her bad mood.
Guo Sichen was busy thinking with his head down when the passenger door beside him suddenly got opened by a fair and dainty hand.
The woman went inside swiftly and wordlessly, leaving him no chance to speak as it slammed close. He was too shocked to speak anyway.
Baffled, Guo Sichen was dumbfounded, staring at the now-closed car door. ‘What the…’ He inwardly muttered to himself.
His brows furrowed as he glared through the tinted window. He raised his hand into a fist to knock on the window when it suddenly rolled down, revealing a peerless, disgruntled face.
“Well, what are you waiting for?” The girl demanded, her lips pursing in a pretty pout.
Guo Sichen blinked, once again caught off guard, his fist left hanging on the air. The window rolled back up already but he still felt that the situation was too ridiculous.
He glanced around his surroundings as if looking for anyone to ask if they could see what the heck was happening or if it was some kind of prank.
He cautiously opened the driver’s door and sat inside. He stared at the woman sitting with a pretty frown on her face. She was staring outside the window, her long lashes framing her starry eyes.
Before he could open his mouth, she whipped her head to face him with a fierce gaze. “What are you doing? Drive!”
Guo Sichen was so perplexed by the situation. He felt a little bit muddled too from not getting enough sleep the other night.
Song Lan was unaware that the guy beside her had all sorts of thoughts running in his mind. He even thought she was some con artist.
Guo Sichen started the engine and drove at a moderate pace. He had no idea where to go but he did as she said so to find out her motive.
A cold glint flashed in his eyes and he gritted his teeth. ‘What exactly is her purpose?’ he said inwardly.
His phone placed at the dashboard started ringing. Placing an earpiece, he silently answered the call.
“Master! Where did you go? Why’d you leave me here?” His assistant, Zhao Lei cried out.
Guo Sichen glanced at the woman beside him with a cautious look. He remained silent and Zhao Lei immediately knew something was wrong.
Zhao Lei straightened up and seriously said, “King is in front of the complex. Said he was supposed to drive his new client to her university. Remember that VIP you handled yourself? Mayor Sun’s daughter.”
Guo Sichen froze a bit and remained silent.
“En. Tell him to report to my office.” Guo Sichen curtly answered, taking a glance once again to the woman next to him and ended the call.
Zhao Lei was spiritless when Guo Sichen ended the call without any explanation. Thankfully, he had already understood the way his young master’s mind worked otherwise he would already be jobless long ago. He connected the dots on his own.
King, who was trying to eavesdrop at the side looked at him expectantly. “Well? What did CEO Guo say?”
“No need to wait for the client. Somehow she ended up mistaking Master as her bodyguard. Hurry and report to his office.” Zhao Lei massaged his forehead.
King was horrified, “What? The little girl made CEO Guo drive? Is she blind? In what angle did he look like a driver?”
“I don’t know, but this really messes up his schedule and I’m the one who’ll have a hard time fixing it…” Zhao Lei grumbled.
King was almost speechless, “D*mn… won’t that little girl be dead before she even gets to arrive?”
Zhao Lei sighed and shook his head, “No, he owes the Sun Clan and that little girl from what I know. He won’t kill her.”
“And what kind of person do you think our Master is?” He eyed King who obviously thought that the CEO was a monster who’d kill anyone who pissed him off.
“The girl just mistook him as her bodyguard, it’s not like she knew him and schemed with a motive, otherwise she might be in danger.” As Zhao Lei continued to blabber, King’s face gradually whitened.
Zhao Lei looked at the silent King and immediately knew what he was thinking. Hitting the back of his head, he nagged, “Look at this guy! Do you think our Master’s such a scum of the earth? Who pays you, huh?”
“You’re acting like the girl’s a little lamb that mistakenly entered the wolf’s den!”
