Now people had started to gather on the windows to be a spectator of the fight going on. Another bouncer ran towards him. Roderick picked up a chair and threw it on his face. Bouncer caught it but couldn’t even see Roderick kicking on his knee.
His knee exploded. And with a punch on his face, same happened with his jaw. His jaw now hung just due to skin.
Roderick turned towards the third bouncer. Bouncer ran out but came back with a gun. Before he could think anything, he fired. It was the time when the spectators thought they had had enough of fight and screamed their way to safety.
Roderick hid behind the bartender table, smelling gunpowder floating in air. He heard different intensities of gunshot. Sounds of those shots seemed very distinct.
Is someone else shooting?
When he rose up, then he saw one man who looked older than him but as tall as him standing with his foot on dead bouncer’s back. The person lifted dead bouncer’s pistol and put it in his waist. “I am Sheriff. And this place is illegal.”
“Why did you kill him?” Owner came rushing towards Sheriff.
“Because he was about to kill my friend.” Sheriff pointed at Roderick.
“He started the fight. And he didn’t pay for the drinks.”
“How about you pay your tax?” Sheriff said it on his face.
Roderick came out from behind the counter and went past the owner. Sheriff then emptied the pub and locked the door. Sheriff wrapped cloth on the lock and stamped it with a logo and hung a notice on the door. The owner went away in anger.
“I didn’t send you here to drink all night.” Sheriff turned at Roderick after he was done with locking.
“I don’t know what hap-“
“Alright, alright. Now come with me to kill Gonzalez.” Sheriff said and walked towards his horse. Sheriff’s horse had a sack tied from the saddle. Roderick could see the trail made by the big sack being dragged on the muddy street.
