Aeon kept her stare at Estin, who began cracking her knuckles and then hopping as an exercise. After a few more seconds, she stopped and moved her head from side to side to crack and relieve the nerves on her neck,
Estin Stronghold. She isn’t an ordinary general. I had seen her fight in the war games against the Primdians; she is more into fighting with her fists and kicks and they are within a higher level than five generals combined. Not only that, but she is sturdy to the point that simply punching her fatal points wouldn’t work, there’s got to be a way to push her defenses down. The maroon-haired thought as she just stood there, waiting for the match to start.
She does not have any fighting stances like the others, all she could do is observe. However, that is enough for her to put up a good fight.
Add the fact that she is a dragonoid; one of the most powerful races there is. This will be more difficult than I thought.
“Here I go!” Estin said as she dashed towards Aeon with lightning speed, causing the taller woman to take a step back in surprise.
“I won’t use much of my power so don’t worry!” Estin assured before she pulled her right arm back, charging her fist, which seemed to give off a faint bluish glow and threw a heavy blow on Aeon’s face.
The maroon-haired barely dodged it by moving her head to the side, grazing her cheek on the process from the attempt, allowing a trail of blood to sharply spray from the wound. It happened all too fast and that surprised the redhead.
Hooh.. She dodged it. She has good eyes. Estin thought and took no time to waste by suddenly grabbing Aeon’s head with both of her hands and yanked it down to hit it with her kneecap.
Aeon used her two hands to cup the kneecap and allowed her forehead to hit on the back of her hands instead, making her yelp and bounce back up, stumbling in the process due to the instant dizziness of the impact.
What the.. Estin narrowed her eyes, grabbing the other female’s arm and spinning around to throw her overhead, slamming her down on the ground that it created a medium-size, web-structured crater below.
This time, Aeon wasn’t able to block it nor dodge it, she directly took the full brunt and coughed out her saliva with her eyes widened. She could feel her back cracking because of the impact. While she is distracted, Estin took this chance to launch another powerful blow towards Aeon’s face.
Aeon closed her eyes tightly to prepare for the hit but after a few more seconds, nothing happened and it made her reopen her eyes and seeing that Estin’s fist is only a few inches away from her nose.
“Checkmate.” Estin said before standing up properly. The surrounding knights began to whisper amongst themselves regarding to what just happened.
Despite winning, Estin’s face darkened as her mood drastically changed upon realizing who Aeon truly is. Her fists clenched tightly that they trembled due to an unexplainable fury swirling within her.
The redhead’s irises are glowing and they seem to release a smoke-structured, light green trails that matches the colors of her eyes.
“Whoa.. she managed to dodge and block the first two attacks from the general.” One of them commented.
“Guess that woman is a tactician and speaking of which, we don’t have any tacticians around, right?” Another one asked.
“Ah, you are new here. Yeah, General’s ass was kicked badly during the past couple of war games because of tacticians. We had tried convincing her to have one of our own but she would decline and whenever we had successfully hired one, that tactician and General wouldn’t get along.”
“Will you both shut up!? I did not have my ass kicked from those war games! I wasn’t just aware! And regarding to that tactician we last hired here, he was being a bitchy asshole, who tends to change plans at the last minute during war! Don’t you think that was a pain in the ass as well?!” Estin lashed out at the two male soldiers, who flinched and bowed down,
“W-We apologize, General Estin!” One of them said aloud.
The redhead clicked her tongue and scornfully looked back down at Aeon with her teeth gritted tightly and eyes narrowed,
“Find a new kingdom who needs a tactician, we don’t need people like you here.”
Aeon blinked and figured out something along the way.
So that’s her weakness. Her lack of awareness and great pressure is causing her to fail in drastically adapting with her environment. However, I wonder why she hates tacticians, she will be needing them more than ever. The maroon-head thought before she sat up and faced her.
Estin scoffed before she turned her heels to leave, “I will just endorse you to another kingdom while I will have Eleftheria advance to the mock Warzone.”
Eleftheria’s eyes widened and looked at the redhead, “Hey! That was unfair of you! Giving up on her just because she’s one of those people you hate?! Aren’t you abusing your power here?!”
“We don’t need tacticians in the first place, Eleftheria. Besides, she wouldn’t be able to grow here since she’d be the only tactician around here if we accepted her.” Estin stopped in her tracks to look back at the honey-haired.
“You can’t do that!” Eleftheria retorted.
“I can.”
“Then, I want you to endorse me to the kingdom she will reside in as well!” Eleftheria growled. To think that her mood could not get any worse.
“Eleftheria!” Estin’s eyes widened in surprise.
The sorceress just stared at her squarely in the eye before speaking once again,
“Give Emp a chance. We still have a mock Warzone, right? Give her a chance to prove that she isn’t like those tacticians. If she fails then I will join you and you can endorse her to another kingdom! But if she succeeds, you will accept the both of us.”
Emp? Weird nickname. The redhead paused before she heaved a sigh and continued walking away,
“The mock Warzone will be in two days. Make sure she can prove her own worth.” She finally approved Eleftheria’s condition.
The honey-haired’s ears perked and her eyes glimmered before bowing, “Thank you, General Stronghold!”
Aeon watched them with her half-lidded, disinterested eyes before she stood up and tugged on her shirt and slacks before Eleftheria went towards her. The knights began to disperse.
“You don’t have to do that for me.” The maroon-haired frowned as she looked down at the other, who grinned.
“I can’t just watch and accept every decision they make. You know that.”
Aeon smiled, she wasn’t sure what she did to deserve someone like Eleftheria,
“Let’s head back to the inn, we still need to eat dinner and watch the gate walls shine and move around, right?”
The sorceress’ grin grew wider, “Uwaaaa!! I can’t wait to see it! Let’s go!!” She grabbed Aeon’s hand and rushed out of the barracks.
Aeon yelped in surprise at the sudden pull and just chuckled with a thought:
It seems I should start from here. I still have a lot to learn about this kingdom anyway.
The mock Warzone… it is my only chance to tell General Estin about me. Talk about attempting to get close to someone in such an exaggerated way.
