In the first English class, Zhang Hai Ying walked in from the outside with a face full of happiness. When she arrived in the classroom, she praised Su Mian and said that today’s reading was the best reading she had heard for so many years, and that even inspired the other classes. The school leaders highly complimented that.
Before Zhang Hai Ying had finished speaking, Sun Ying closed her eyes and covered both her ears. She didn’t want to hear any word about Su Mian. Her mother was exaggerating too much. Su Mian just led the reading for the morning self study, Sun Ying herself led the reading for the past 2 years yet her mother never praised her even once.
After a full five minutes, Sun Ying let go of her hands, and Zhang Hai Ying stood still on the podium chattering endlessly.
“Is your mother for real? She praises Su Mian for reading well in front of all the classmates. Isn’t this like slapping you literally? I really doubt she is your mother!” Zhang Yan Jie muttered softly while paying attention to Sun Ying’s facial expression. Sure enough, after listening to her, Sun Ying’s face became even uglier.
Sun Ying stood up abruptly, and the chair slammed into the wall, making a loud noise. Zhang Hai Ying wanted to praise Su Mian even more but was interrupted.
“Teacher Zhang, what’s the use of just speaking well? The college entrance examination does not include speaking. Since you look so favorably on Su Mian, why not let Su Mian do a few pieces of reading comprehension and test her real competency! If she can’t pass on comprehension, I won’t accept her leading the reading!”
