A tough adversary was prepared for Nick on one side but deep within the battlefield itself, Nick was very happy. He had just managed to destroy a Magister Level Ancient Stone Giant with ease and his two Reaper Anubites and other summoned creatures ambushed the Werfur troop, killing all the warriors and mages.
At the same time, Blue Tear City’s airforce destroyed and brought down the Werfur race’s war machines.
From the outside, everything was in their favor and the battle was going their way. There was one problem though that was nagging at Nick. He believed that the Werfurs, and Leader Warin in particular, being the leader of the Werfur Base – Anderium, should be smarter than this and should perceive his abilities to some extent.
They should have been better prepared against him and the unexpected changes in the battle.
While thinking this, Nick was also aware his relationship with the Werfur race had shattered beyond restoration now. The reason was painfully simple — he had killed more than 70-100 Werfur mages and soldiers. There was no way they would have any relationship with him after this. On the contrary, it was most likely they would actively search to kill him at this moment.
It was not that his bond with Werfurs was too strong but he did feel a sense of loss. Nick sighed deeply and shook his head, as he looked at the battlefield on the ground that was still ongoing. There seemed to be a never-ending fight between the warriors and mages of the human race and the monsters and magical creatures on the ground. It looked like the enemy force had an almost infinite number of cannon fodder (with no or little power) level creatures.
Nick was still observing the situation when he felt a sense of threat behind him and noticed a humanoid-shaped creature looking at him. The creature was flying as well, and Nick immediately inspected it.
‘Student 1 to 3 (Imper to Provec)’
‘Expert 1 to 3 (Magister Level – Lord Level – Cardinal Level)’
‘Space Eater – Master Duelist’
‘Level – Cardinal (Two levels higher than Expert Level (Two levels higher than Magister Level)’
‘Description’
‘A space-eater type creature, capable of fighting against space mages, space fighters and any creature with the abilities related to ‘space’ and ‘dimension’’
‘A Master Sword Duelist’
‘Abilities’
‘Moonlight Sword Art (Completed Mastery)’
‘Space Eater (cannot use any ‘space’ or ‘dimensional’ ability within ‘5000,000 km’ of the ‘Space Eater’; only way to bypass this ability is being stronger than the creature itself by a margin higher than five stages of magical levels.’
‘Void Creature (?????)’
‘Body Of Void (?????)’
‘Eyes Of Void (?????)’
The creature’s body was pure white and it was wearing simple black clothes, similar to a mage’s robes. Its eyes shone with a greenish light that automatically commanded authority. There was an aura surrounding it which all but screamed that it was not to be messed with.
In that instant, Nick understood he no longer had the power to use his teleportation ability. He could feel this even without any message of caution from the system.
Nick nearly choked when he realized he had no advantage over this creature whatsoever. Without hesitating, he attacked it with all his power. A burst of magical energy erupted from his eyes and body as all his magical energy turned into different kinds of Energy Bullets, including ‘Poison Bullet’, and shot towards the Master Duelist with a speed more than double of sound.
The Master Duelist looked at the energy bullets and brandished a basic sword that looked like a rapier and swung it a couple of times. The move was enough to break all the energy bullets at once.
The Master Duelist looked at a visibly exhausted Nick and started talking.
“Your efforts are futile, human being. You do not have enough power to create any attack that I could not block or render ineffective.”
Nick smiled and nodded. He then took out the pen that the Void Hunter Rat, Ravia, had given him. On seeing the pen, for the first time, the Master Duelist’s eyes changed; the authoritative greenish eyes showed a degree of fear.
Almost simultaneously, the sky broke open. A rat-like creature appeared and stationed himself before Nick. He was clearly amused because he was laughing and speaking at the same time.
“Hahahaha… My dear human friend Epsilon, you are still creating problems everywhere you go! But this problem you have encountered is a good one for me.”
Once done teasing Nick, Ravia looked at the Master Duelist and started talking.
“So, we have a Space Eater here. Who has summoned and contracted you, you little thing?”
The Master Duelist had already put his sword away and started talking. The tone of its voice had changed completely.
“I am a contracted Space Eater – Master Duelist at the Cardinal level. My contractor is ‘Eye of Void’ and my contract page belongs to the ‘Lord of Anderium’ at the level of ‘Lord’. We and I would like to not have any problem with the ‘Void Hunter’.”
Ravia nodded after listening to the Master Duelist and said.
“I understand, you little thing. But this human being is under my protection and this contract of yours cannot be completed. If it must be completed, you and the Eye of Void need to kill me first.”
The Master Duelist looked at Nick with an extremely complicated expression this time. It could not comprehend why a creature at the level of Ravia was protecting this insignificant human being. The Master Duelist, nonetheless, contacted the ‘Eye of Void’ and gave the change in the situation.
Seconds after that, the Master Duelist vanished and the symbol of the triangle in a circle appeared on the spot.
Ravia chuckled and spoke.
“Oh, the Eye of Void Symbol! It has been a while since we spoke, don’t you think?”
If the Lord of Anderium was here, he would be shocked because this time, the otherwise silent Eye of Void Symbol started speaking.
“Void Hunter Rat Ravia, we do not want you to hold a grudge against us. We are ceasing our contract against your human. To show our good graces towards this human, we will eradicate the contract holder and its friends.”
