chapter – 137 – not Eligible

Once the conversation with the Green-Legged Spider race was done, and Epsilon had a basic understanding of their circumstances, he agreed to meet them on his planet. He felt a bit bad for them being stuck in outer space without a clear survival path. He headed to his burnt down property and the Needle-Drones went back to their stationed place right next to the house.

Epsilon was slightly unhappy with the dire straits of his newly built house but it also did not bother him much. He signaled with his hand and the house started reconstructing itself back together.

For something as menial as repairing a wooden house, given Epsilon’s power, which was a Lord Level mage, there was no need to use too much energy or knowledge.

With a shake of his hand and some magical energy, he could fix it back to its original form.

Not much time had passed before the house was repaired and a shuttle the size of an ordinary house descended from the sky. As it landed, the door opened and three creatures alighted from it. Epsilon almost immediately was scanning and inspecting these creatures.

Their size was not much. Their upper body was a humanoid shape that was green in color, reminding Epsilon of leaves. They did not emit any energy. Their head and body were identical to humans but their lower body consisted of six green legs that when fully straight, would reach an average human’s chest.

Physically, they were not strong and Epsilon even felt they were weak. They had five eyes on each side of their head and a human mouth. But they did not have a nose or ears. Their arms were like humans but with green hair all over them.

After the three green-legged spiders exited the shuttle, they walked towards Epsilon. One of the spiders took the lead to come forward and started talking.

“At the outset, we would like to apologize for our attack on your land and home. We hope you understand after the explanation we gave you about the matter.”

Epsilon smiled indicating that the apology was accepted and started talking.

“There is nothing to worry about that matter. Please come here and sit. I have prepared some tea for all of you.”

Two minutes later, one human ‘Epsilon’ and three Green-Legged Spiders sat on the couch that was arranged for them. They tasted the tea and nodded to each other showing their approval for the beverage’s flavor.

After some time was spent in silence, Epsilon asked.

“I heard you people entered a nebula and then found yourselves in the orbit of this planet.”

The Green-Legged Spider leader nodded and started talking. Their voices were a little squeaky but not too hurtful on the ears.

“Yes, we were travelling to explore a few more planets but we entered a nebula and found ourselves here. After we noticed your drones, we tried to contact you using our radio channels. Once we confirmed that you had no communication system, which is usually common for space pirates, we decided to attack you.”

Epsilon nodded showing he understood. He did not know there were pirates in space, very similar to the older times on Earth, when there were pirates at sea.

He was also unaware that having no communication meant that one could be mistaken for a pirate. All of this was new for him but he noted it all in his mind.

He needed to build a communication center, at least for visitors or similar cases, so that he did not get attacked by every space organization or race there was. This was completely undesirable for him.

“So, please tell me how can I help you guys?”

The three Green-Legged Spiders looked at each other and the leader answered.

“We need to repair our warp drive for travelling back to our planet. At the same time, our food reserves are almost over. We right now have around 2000 individual Green Spiders on the ship. We would like your help on the matter of the food.”

Epsilon listened and nodded as he asked.

“What is the kind of technology that the warp drive you are using is based on?”

The leader answered without thinking.

“It uses dimensional knowledge. It finds existing cracks in space and then we enter the dimensional world to travel long distances.”

Epsilon then asked again.

“Do you use Wave Reader to find your way towards the place you want to go or something else?”

The Green-Legged Spider leader shook his head and answered.

“The warp drive does not open a crack or find a world for us. It lets us travel in the world of a dimension. After entering the dimensional world, the laws of space do not affect us. We just go our way and our planet but our speed increases more than thousand, even millions, times compared to normal space travel.”

This time Epsilon understood what they were talking about and nodded, not asking any more questions about the warp drive.

He then asked about the food.

“What does your race eat the most? I can provide it for you.”

The Green-Legged Spider Leader looked hopeful when he heard this. He smiled as he started talking. This was the first time Epsilon saw the spider smiling.

“Most of the time, we eat meat but our preferred food is fish meat. If you can provide us with us some of that, it would be best. But any other kind of meat is also alright.”

Epsilon nodded and opened the Void Market as he started looking for meat. At the same time, he asked.

“Do your people know about the existence of the Void Market?”

This time, the Green-Legged Spider Leader got up from his seat and started talking with a light in his eyes.

“Yes, we know about the market but we have no right or power to make a deal with them. Also, our race does not have enough funds to make deals with them even if they wanted to do that.”

Epsilon raised an eyebrow and asked.

“Why don’t your people have the right to make a deal with them?”

The Green-Legged Spider smiled and answered with a bit of a shamed expression.

“Even if we are a race that is capable of interstellar travel, our power is not much. So, we are not eligible to enter the Void Market. If we had enough funds and the right to enter the Void Market, we could hire a warp drive scientist to fix our drive with some payment.”
