In the course of the conversation with the Green-Legged Spiders, Epsilon learned that their leader was called Sparia. Sparia was also the captain of the Green-Legged Spider Sattelite spaceship, which was called Arno.
After learning about the events they had been through, Epsilon did not make any more comments or ask any further questions.
“I can give you fish meat and let you borrow some space on my land. About 30KM of the area in all directions here is mine. If you want to build a camp here, it will be no problem.”
Sparia looked at Epsilon and asked.
“What would you want in return, Lord Epsilon?”
Sparia has begun using the title ‘Lord’ after he saw that Epsilon could transact with the Void Market. It seemed like the ability to access and trade with the Market was a big deal for them. Anyone who could do that was by no means a weak person or an uninfluential individual or organization.
From this little instance, Epsilon understood that the Green-Legged Spiders were a race that valued the power and influence of an individual. Even if Epsilon’s power was not that much, at least not much in comparison to some of the greater forces in this world, his influence and having the respect of the Void Market earned him the awe of this spider race and its captain.
Epsilon had easily defeated their spaceship and drones, but they had still not given him enough respect at the time. One reason was that Epsilon did not have any communication means and that was not what respectable people missed out on.
They deemed him to be a naturally powerful creature with a primal level of comprehension. Basically, they thought he was a powerful being, born with power without any kind of research and technological progress. Once they learned that that was not the case, their attitude towards him immediately turned respectful.
An hour later, more Green-Legged Spiders come down to the ground. About 100-150 decided to camp on the ground, while the others stayed on the ship as the researchers worked on repairing the warp drive. Epsilon did not demand anything for the time being. Sparia was not very comfortable with this but at present, he was helpless to say anything.
Epsilon opened the Void Market. As he was watching the mechanical tents of the Green-Legged Spiders being built, he entered ‘fish meat’ in the search system and noticed that many varieties showed up instantly. In fact, the search results popped up more than a billion types of fish.
He studied the results briefly and noticed one of the fish types that had an attractive description for its taste and satiating its consumers quickly.
‘Delivora Fish – Ocean Planet Fish.’
‘Description’
‘Delivora, a herbivore fish, that after produced and worked on has a good taste and fills up the eaters quickly.”
‘1 Ton Of Delivora Fish Meat – 1 Ether Stone.’
Epsilon was satisfied with this variety. He went to Sparia’s side and asked.
“Sparia, there are 100 to 200 of your people here. How much tonnage of food is needed for starters? I am not very sure about the portion size that your race eats.”
While speaking to Sparia, he observed more than 100 Green-Legged Spiders working on building houses and more makeshift places for themselves. It seemed that their situation was more complex than he thought it was.
Hearing the question, Sparia looked around and then answered.
“A Green Spider, which is what we refer to ourselves, eats about 250-500 grams of meat daily. So, 1KG of meat would be enough for one Green Spider for two days.”
Epsilon thought a bit. He made it simple in his mind and decided to count it as 1KG per Green Spider, per day. Considering that the total number was 150, one ton of meat was enough for 150 Green Spiders for about 15 days.
He thought it was best if he would buy two or three times this portion right now itself. He then asked.
“Do you have access to a refrigerator? Otherwise, the meat could go bad after some time.”
Sparia smiled and nodded.
“Yes, our ships have in-built refrigerators. We can store up to 20-30 tons of meat.”
Epsilon nodded and ordered ‘Delivore Fish’. He ordered about three tons of meat and paid only three Ether Stones. This transaction reminded him that Ether Stones were indeed very valuable for basic materials and food.
After about 15 seconds, a black sphere opened up and after some projectional light from the sphere, 15-20 packages, each about two feet in size, appeared on the ground.
The packaging was good, made from metal and not materials such as cardboard or the likes.
Epsilon and Sparia opened one of the packages and inspected the fish meat. The content looked good. Even though it was not cooked, it was still lightly fragrant.
Looking at the volume of the delivery, Sparia looked at Epsilon and asked.
“How much did you buy, Lord Epsilon?”
Epsilon answered.
“I bought three tons of meat right now. It should be enough for your people for a month. I will buy three more tons three days later, and another four tons, five days later. So, at least in terms of food, you do not have to worry about anything. It is cheap for me to buy this for you.”
Sparia sighed internally and did not say anything. He called out some Green Spiders and they started using mini-rovers to carry the food boxes to their ship. They sent one ton of the meat to the satellite, as the food supplies there were already near exhaustion.
In the meanwhile, Epsilon noticed that the tents they had been building were in the shape of circles, similar to the igloos that Eskimos built on the colder regions on Earth. Each unit was not very large and most of them were made up of wood that they picked from his land, some dirt, and also some metal parts. It was polished to be fit to stay and it looked artistic as well. Epsilon thought it was quite pleasing to the eye.
