chapter – 139 Thank You Lord Epsilon

The Green-Legged Spider race was immersed in building the requirements for their temporary camp on Epsilon’s property. At the same time, the other races were not idle either. Within mere hours of them having set foot on the ground, the Blue Tear City Government was already aware of their arrival. The City’s intelligence sharing system was perfected over time and not something to be taken lightly. There was no chance something like this would be hidden from them.

A big council was formed about these intelligent races that traveled using ships between stars. Even though Epsilon was not a thoroughbred noble of the Blue Tear City, a position that he did not seem to put too much weightage on anyway, he did have connections with the Blue Tear City. Therefore, a woman called Alya, who was not only responsible for Foreign Affairs but also one of the stronger mages around, was appointed to meet and talk with Lord Epsilon to learn more about this race.

This was an ordinary response from a race that placed importance on knowledge. No human empire would leave it alone if a race they did not know of, and most likely had stronger power considering they were capable of travelling through space, and hence had a technologically powerful system, landed on their grounds announced or unannounced.

Alya had to go alone if she did not want to encounter any problem with Lord Epsilon. They knew his temperament and that he did not like to have problems or appreciated others interfering in his affairs. Considering what they knew about Lord Epsilon from their previous experiences, it was better to go alone, compared to bringing a brigade with her.

She was a peak Provec-Level Mage. With a little bit more power, she would reach Magister Level. In any case, she had enough power to protect herself if something had to happen.

Perhaps her power was not enough to go up against Lord Epsilon but she had nothing to fear if she had to face any other opponents. In the case of Epsilon, as long as she did not show any bad behavior or hostility, it should be fine.

In all, there should be no problem in discovering more about this new race.

Epsilon was sitting in his courtyard watching the Green Spiders eat their food. It looked like the Delivore fish was as advertised and tasted good. Epsilon was sipping on tea and looked around as if having fun.

Before the Green Spider race had come, he was all alone in the forest and it was quiet in this house. Now the place was filled with sounds of the Green Spider race everywhere. They were always building something or cooking food and serving their race members.

At this time, Sparia walked up to him with a bowl of fish meat that was sprinkled with some edible grass the Green Spiders found on Epsilon’s land.

Sparia gave the bowl of fish meat to Epsilon and started talking.

“We are eating Lord Epsilon. We wanted to thank you for everything.”

Epsilon took the bowl and nodded without saying anything as he started eating it with a makeshift wooden fork. The meat was tender and juicy, cooked just enough to not be sticky or rubbery but more buttery in texture.

He did not expect the Delivore fish to be cheap but still tasty. It showed that the good things in the universe were not worth much, especially in a place as diverse as this. He even wondered if there was an occupation, where one discovered food and other raw materials with the purpose to produce and sell them as novelties and alternatives.

Epsilon was enjoying his meal as a discovery adventure; he sighed with satisfaction as he kept eating the food. Sparia had a moment of pride as he looked at how Lord Epsilon ate the meat they had cooked for themselves.

Dear Readers. Scrapers have recently been devasting our views. At this rate, the site (creativenovels .com) might...let's just hope it doesn't come to that. If you are reading on a scraper site. Please don't.

The Green Spider race was very proud when it came to their cooking capabilities. Their original planet was a different kind of planet. The planet Greenilors, as it’s called by most scientists of the Green Spider race, was an iron planet in a fairly small solar system with seven other planets.

Zenn-La was about 14.6 times bigger than Earth and its gravity was about 5.68 times that of Earth. A single day lasted 44.32 hours and a year lasted 182 days. The planet was made up of nine continents, which make up 69% of the planet’s landmass.

Two moon(s) orbited the planet and Zenn-La itself orbited an orange sun in an almost perfectly circular orbit. The plant-like organisms on this planet were made up of tall grasses and flowers, with even taller fungi and huge trees. Shrubs were non-existent and bushes were very rare. While flowers come in more shapes and colors than grasses, they both shared a wide variety of scents, most of which were related to the nutrients in their area. The fungi were tall, strong and, like the grasses and flowers, scented. The trees were also scented, but it was much harder to detect.

Many of these organisms had developed unique ways to prevent them from being eaten. While many of them tasted bad and a few were even poisonous, some had gone the extra mile and had become hard to digest. Any part of them that did get eaten and managed to survive an animal’s digestion, would often end up regrowing from that small piece, which now had plenty of nutrients from the animal’s excretion.

The water plants on this planet were very different from what was used on Earth. While they roughly shared the same colors, or lack thereof, these plants had developed into mostly flesh-eating species.

Almost no aquatic creature was safe, even the bigger ones could sometimes get caught in these death traps. By far the most interesting animals on this planet were the aquatic mammals. They may not be as majestic as the birds or as fierce as some of the land mammals, but they were the only species that had a sentient member. This member of the aquatic species was roughly comparable to a mixture of seals and squids. They formed huge colonies and actively took care of each other. They even built makeshift homes out of the available materials on the sea floors.
