Some things were better left unanswered. Epsilon opened his eyes and smiled. Everything started to seem fine after he stopped thinking and forgot about all the things that had happened in his mind. It was best to stop looking for an answer for everything. If not, he would lose his mind. Epsilon had decided to take a step back and let go of his persistence to seek an answer.
Not everything wanted an answer. In regards to overcoming arrogance, he had already found his answer and by the time, he did, it looked like a very simple answer at that. He firmly thought there should be no problem in thinking about other possibilities and moving on.
He believed that gratitude towards himself and what he had would be more important. It would shield him from losing himself in the face of power and power drunkness. This was the best outcome. He still had his arrogance but to not be consumed by that arrogance was his target and goal. He finally sighed deeply and smiled as he whispered.
“I have learned everything. Let me go right now.”
With his words, the sound of glass shattering could be heard in his mind and then the place Epsilon was in cracked down around him, just like it was made of glass. When the cold wind hit his face, it was accompanied by the usual sounds of the forest. However, not a moment had passed and he entered a dream state once again. Only this time, it was more like a vision than a test.
A narrow murky cave in an overcast grove marked the entrance to this dungeon. Beyond the murky cave was a small, shady room. It was covered in dirt, and puddles of water and ash.
Your torch allowed you to see weapons racks and locked crates, tattered and consumed by time itself. Further ahead were three paths, you take the right. Its twisted trail led past the pillaged rooms and soon you entered a ghostly area. There was a pile of skeletons in the center, all burned and black. What happened to this place?
You cautiously proceeded onwards, deeper into the dungeon’s darkness. You passed many rooms and passages, some looked awfully familiar, others stranger than everything else. You eventually made it to what was likely the final room. A vast granite door blocked your path. Countless odd symbols were all over it, somehow untouched by time and elements. You stepped closer to inspect it and.. wait.. you heard a faint laugh coming from behind the door.
Made up of 16 stars, the constellation called Sphyrna roughly resembled the shape of a bat. It could be seen most prominently high above the Eastern horizon during summer.
In an ancient society, this constellation was seen as the representation of the god of blacksmiths. This is how it received the name still used today. In astrology, this constellation bore the sign of the fortunate, those born under it were believed to become rich.
They were supposed to be a good match with those born under the constellations resembling a rabbit, pig and vase. But they did match well with those born under the dragon, koala and fountain constellations.
The planet Mondas, as it was called by most scientists, was an Earth-like planet in a vast solar system with twenty-one other planets. Mondas was about 5.1 times bigger than Earth and its gravity was about 2.74 times that of Earth.
A single day lasted 27.39 hours and a year lasted 137 days. The planet was made up of nine continents, which made up 83% of the planet’s landmass. Four moon(s) orbited the planet and Mondas itself orbited a blue sun in a fairly circular orbit.
The plant-like organisms on this planet were dominated by large fungi and flowers, but there were some trees and shrubs as well. The flowers came in almost every color imaginable, but they tend to be fairly small. The fungi, on the other hand, reached incredible heights but were usually fairly pale in color. Being eaten often meant the end of an individual organism or at least the part that had been eaten, but a few species on this planet had become very resilient.
Whether eaten whole or in large pieces, these species would continue to grow and repair themselves. Some will be excreted out and grew wherever it landed, with the bonus of free nutrients from that. Others had become specialized in being patient and resisting acid. While in an animal’s stomach, these species would transform. They would go into what’s essentially a hibernation mode, shielding themselves from the effects of stomach acids and the lack of sunlight.
Here they would wait patiently, perhaps occasionally using food in the stomach as nutrients, until the day the animal died and thus the stomach lost its acidity. It would then begin to grow again with plenty of nutrients around it from the dead animal.
The aquatic organisms were not very large in numbers, but they were huge in size. They could grow to sizes of nearly 100 meters (328ft) and a diameter of up to 5 meters (16ft). These underwater giants gave this aquatic world an eerie atmosphere as one never knew what could lurk behind that pillar. But at the same time, they provided homes to thousands of species on all depths, which made studying even one giant coral an absolute delight.
There were plenty of odd creatures in the universe and this planet was no different. Amid all the birds, mammals, fish and reptiles, a species of sentient snake-like creatures had emerged. While awareness wasn’t unique to the snakes on this planet, their methods of hunting their prey were odd, to say the least. The snakes on Earth had various, often horrifying ways to hunt and kill their prey, but these snake-like creatures hunted in groups. Their teamwork was astonishing and at the same time terrifying. A single attack of a team of these monsters could easily wipe out most of a family of smaller creatures, but like many animals on Earth, these creatures made sure enough survived for the future.
After three constant dreams about dungeons, stars and one planet, Epsilon finally woke up and started feeling better. As he opened his eyes, the feeling inside his mind and soul could not be described at all.
