With a mind filled with fantasies of a ‘cool protagonist showdown’, Nick used the Portal Teleportation spell to reach the Sound Dog tribe in no time. From his position up in the sky, Nick looked down at a town that he identified as the dwelling of the Sound Dog Tribe.
Right now, he was flying 50 meters aboveground. Casually gazing below his feet, Nick thought that after this event was over, it would be best if he created a flight mechanism for commuting that did not rely on the ‘Portal Teleportation’ spell.
While Nick was still immersed in thoughts on what he was going to do next, he saw a being the same as the Sound Dogs he encountered earlier, except this one was walking on two legs. Nick understood that some of the creatures in these tribes, especially the ones in the shape of humanoids, were likely the Chieftains of the tribe.
For instance, in the case of the Rock Cow Tribe. Just then, Nick saw an information panel open up.
‘Sound Dog Chieftain (Chief Sound Dog Tribe)’
‘Level 6 (Prive Beginner Mage)’
‘Abilities:’
‘Sound Wave Blast: Creates a blast of soundwave in front of the user; damages the enemies’
“Sound Wave Concentrated Blast: Shoots a concentrated blast of soundwave towards the target; a long-range spell of the Sound Wave Blast’
‘Sound Wave Shield: Creates an invisible shield of soundwave, capable of blocking physical and magical attacks’
‘Sound Perception: Level 5 (hearing ability more than 40%) (If willed, the user can stop using the perception of sound)’
‘Passive’
‘Natural Agility – Level 1 (Being a dog, is more agile than most ordinary races like humans and other races that did not have the natural agility of cats and dogs)’
‘Pack Leader – Level 3 ( When fighting with more than five members of their race, will be 20% more powerful)’
Nick inspected the information of the Sound Dog Chieftain and nodded with affirmation. Now, he has an inkling about why these dogs would be going around and attacking everything they see. Their Chieftain became a Prive Level mage. Given this, the Chieftain alone was enough to kill all the other tribe leaders.
Considering there would be a number difference, Sound Dogs had the passive ability called ‘Pack Member’ and ‘Pack Leader’. This ability would make them more powerful as long as they fought alongside the members of their race.
Like a pack of dogs and wolves, this difference was basic but important. With this ability, they could ignore the number difference against the other races. With their soundwave ability, they could hunt beings that were capable of flying in the sky as well.
All of these facts put together gave Nick a definitive idea.
The Sound Dogs were preparing to take over the island completely from the controls of other tribes. There was nothing strange or unexpected about this. Humans were the same should they were in this state. The stronger hand would look to suppress the weaker.
It was bad and if Nick was not there, it would most likely be that Sound Dogs would take down the other tribes and assume full ownership of the Grey Stone Island.
Possessing land the size of end-to-end 1000 KM would change many things. A 100 million humans beings could live easily enough in a space this big.
Nick gave out a breath and whispered.
“If I was not here, they would take the entire island for themselves, produce more and have more time to evolve. Eventually, nature would take its course and they would become a full-fledged race, capable of using magic and improving technology. But with what I plan to do, I will most likely destroy the birth of a civizilation itself. Yet, I feel nothing.”
At this time, Nick noticed a concentrated Sound Wave Blast headed right for him. Clearly, the Chieftain and the other Sound Dogs had already started attacking him before he even had the chance to make a move.
This did not worry Nick. On the contrary, this more or less justified his next action. Nick shook his right hand and created three ‘Vacuum Bombs’. At the same time, he used his left hand to create a basic shield with the imagination of space.
The shield itself had no space ability. It only mimicked the attributes of ‘space’ for a second. By space, Nick meant ‘cosmic space’, where sound could not travel due to the molecular structure of ‘void’.
At present, Nick could copy but not create space ability like this. Creating ability needed both space and void. The Portal Teleportation spell, for instance, was possible only because of several factors at play, and hence it deserved to be the most powerful and profound spell that Nick had created so far.
A black shield manifested in his left hand and he used it to block the soundwave attacks of Sound Dogs.
The sound became reasonably weaker, its attack power near negligible, due to the shield created by the imagination of cosmic space and void.
As the concentrated sound blasts hit the shield, they did not make any sound. They just muffled and vanished. The onlookers and attackers on the ground furrowed their eyes unable to understand what happened. The Sound Dogs continued their attack nonetheless.
The Sound Dog Chieftain, however, was more intelligent and more powerful. By now, he had some grip on the power level of his opponent. The realization did not make him feel good at all. But before he could decide on a different plan of attack, Nick whispered and shot three beads of ‘Vacuum Bombs’, marking three different sections of the tribe.
The Sound Dogs were still attacking Nick, not taking his actions seriously at all. Nick had the situation under control as he was blocking all their attacks with the ‘Black Space Shield (Imagination)’.
At this time, as the three beads were about to hit the ground, the Chieftain came to a conclusion that gave a chill down his back and all the hair on his body stood. He was quick and tried to escape from the places, where the three beads were falling.
A second later, a massive explosion and a heatwave, destroyed the town.
“BOOOOOM!”
“BOOOOOM!!”
“BOOOOOM!!!”
Three explosive sounds resonated across the area, and as far as the eye could see, there were clouds of dust. All attacks on Nick ceased at once. Five seconds later, the dust settled and Nick gave out a breath.
More than 150 Sound Dogs were killed with his three beads. Almost all homes of the Sound Dog Tribes were destroyed. The damage was significant, and there were less than 40 Sound Dogs left alive. Most of them were gravely injured with perhaps only 10 capable of even walking.
Nick did not forget about the Sound Dog Chieftain. He was able to escape and run, but this was no use.
The ground was littered with the bodies of the Sound Dogs, who were in different shapes according to how they were killed. The ones hit by the blast were turned into smithereens and the ones killed by the heat, were charred to death.
