Chapter 9 – Class – Teacher Revira

Sure of the direction he was going to make progress in, Nick smiled. It was good that he thought about picking up magical remains, if not he would be just shooting a target that he could not see with his eyes.

“Magical remains should be dangerous because of the nature of magic that emitted them. However, as of right now, I still don’t know the true extent of their danger. The reason for magical remains most likely dangerous should be similar to radioactive waste from the earth, the casting of spell creates dangerous waste for the people, I still do not know what kind of harm it creates in a person”

Finally, he concluded that the remains were dangerous because of the magic related to them. He basically used radioactive waste sense, it is only natural that a force like magic have dangerous waste that could be dangerous, nothing powerful and effective is not dangerous he believes.

Similar to how the system increased his proficiency in Energy Bolt when he drew parallels with a gun, he thought magical remains were similar to bullet casings as they were hot and couldn’t be touched just after release.

Of course this is a second thought compared to analogy of radioactive waste.

After Nick concluded magical remains are dangerous, his face again turned grim as he remembered something important. With this new knowledge manifested in his mind he believed even more the people, especially mages are all sociopaths which can not be trusted.

The reason for this was simple.

“The mages of this world must know magical remains are dangerous, especially for slaves. Despite that, they force them into cleaning magical remains without caring about their safety. The reason it must be dangerous to slaves even more because of they do not have any magical energy their body and they could not protect themselves from harmful energy comes from magical remains.”

At this moment, Nick understood something. He should, under no circumstances, view the humans of this world in the same light as the humans from Earth.

It was not like the humans from earth, yes it was true that humans from earth too did many bad things and will keep doing so.

This didn’t mean he was going to regard humans of this world as anything but humans. It was just… That would, and its humans were just too different from what his common sense could comprehend.

That world’s acceptance of slavery wasn’t the only reason behind Nick’s distaste for this world.

He had seen the mage guards and mage students talk many times. Unlike humans from Earth, the humans of this world showed little to no emotions.

They spoke sparsely, they regarded the lives of humans other than themselves with little compassion, and they viewed life and death with little interest.

They were impassive to the point that they would ignore a human dying in front of them. In the earth even some criminals and murderers do not like people die in vain except some different cases.

“I shouldn’t hope to find a kind human or hope in this world.”

The only mage Nick found a little different from all the other mages around him was Marvian.

Nick shook his head and whispered to himself.

“Logically, there are bound to be a human or two who are different from the rest: still left with a bit of good old human kindness. This world is the true example of what the human future would look like if we are given boundless power with no law governing us.”

This world seemed a lot like Hitler’s regime. Seeing some humans as superior to others and treating the supposed inferior humans with little to no regard.

Maybe, this was the true nature of the race called humanity. Left unchecked, this race would do whatever the hell it wanted without a care for the consequences.

Nick shook his head and whispered to himself.

“No! This isn’t what true strength is like. Strong are those who can kill anyone without any accountability. Strongest are those who are strong yet know how to show mercy.”

Lost in his thoughts, Nick was suddenly reminded three to four hours have passed by the rising sun.

He quickly hid the magical remains and laid on his bed. About 30 minutes later, the door opened, and Elena entered the room.

“Get ready quickly and follow me. You have three minutes.”

After that, she left and began walking towards her class.

Nick, who was already expecting her, got up from his bed and waited for two minutes before following Elena.

Why did he wait for two minutes? It was because he had to make sure that Elena believed he was getting ready. If he got ready too quickly, it would raise suspicion.

Nick started following Elena, and after about 10–15 minutes, he noticed they had entered an enormous building called Class Building.

From his memories, he knew that this place was where students were taught by real mages.

Nick could see other slaves with their masters, while there were students with no slaves. Numerous doors were leading to this building. The doors were painted in different colors; some were black, some were red, and some were of a different color.

Five minutes later, Nick and Elena entered a classroom. The door leading to this room was black, and the classroom itself was big: about the size of a basketball court.

Slaves were on the sidelines, and students were sitting on separate chairs prepared for them.

At this time, a 20 something-year-old woman entered the room and looked at the students. She did not even give a fleeting glance to the slaves.

After five seconds of silence, she started talking.

“I am Revira Nilfiar. I will teach Dark Magibiology or Dark Alchemy. First, who is going to explain what is Dark Magibiology?”

Nick gulped and started listening. A lesson and a classroom full of students—that was exactly what he needed. He did not expect a class subject, and a teacher who taught Dark Magi biology would also fall into his lap.

Three seconds later, one student got up from his seat and started talking, answering the question.

“Teacher Revira, Dark Alchemy is a dark magic subject specializing in creating body parts using dark magic. It can be used for creating new limbs lost in the battle; at the higher levels, it can be used for creating magical organs, and even limbs that were never there in the first place.”

Revire nodded as she listened and started talking.

“Your name is Jonathan, right? What you said wasn’t completely correct, but it was a good explanation nonetheless. As you know, the color of this classroom is Dark. This means that only dark mages and dark magic users can learn in this class. At the same time, you guys will need your slaves to improve in this class.”

Nick gulped after hearing what Revire said. Slaves were going to be used as experimental subjects—Nick was very clear about this fact.

Ten seconds later, Revire started speaking.

“We’ll start with a practical magic spell. Jonathan, come here with your slave.”

After hearing Revere’s orders, the mage student called Jonathan walked towards her while his slave followed behind.

Revire then smiled as she spoke.

“I will amputate the right arm of your slave, and you will use the spell I’m going to show you to create an arm for him.”

For the first time in his life, Nick was scared shitless.
