Bk 2 Chapter 153 – Concepts

“So what nutrients do you require to maximise your growth?” asked Zilan. He was both curious as well as excited by the prospect of having such a potentially powerful companion and needless to say, he wanted to make Beina stronger as swiftly as possible.

“Hmm?” Her cute somewhat high-pitched voice echoed out. It was obvious she was confused by his words.

Luckily Hihi was around to translate. “He’s asking what you like to eat.”

“Oh, spirit items taste really good. Especially the ones that have the laws of space. Also…..I…no, that’s it.”

“What’s wrong?” Zilan altered his voice to be as gentle as possible. He did this because he wanted Beina to feel free when speaking to him, nothing was out of bounds and nothing was wrong. “It’s alright, you can tell me.” He continued.

“I also like to eat Voids.” Her voice was extremely low, almost inaudible, just like a cornered kitten however, the content of her words left both Hihi as well as the usually calm Zilan shocked and terrified beyond words.

Their fear was understandable as not many people understood Voids. Their significance and power was something that many took for granted but the truly great existences would never underestimate the Void as it was a part of the Universe that no one could control.

The Void was a natural occurrence that appeared within the body of beings that had broken through the threshold of mortality. This was a Universal phenomenon that had no explanation, it was just the way things worked. The Void allowed these beings to store items of varying sizes at their leisure and depending on their power the size of their voids varied from small to near Infinite space.

The Void also served as the ultimate transportation tool as with it one could travel at the fastest possible speeds to almost any location in the Universe. This ability was too domineering and luckily no one could control it otherwise they would be the overlords of the Universe as they could literally control movement across all space.

This was why the little study of the Void that was done was not considered a [Way] nor was it referred to as an Element. Yes, people could manipulate their Voids but no one in history has been able to control the Infinite Void as a whole. That is until now.

To put it into perspective, eating the Void was akin to the devouring of a star. Just a tiny piece of void, when ingested or isolated from the larger Void would contain a force equal to the destruction of a star.

“Ehem, what does the devouring of voids help you do?” asked Zilan, trying his best to remain composed, casual and calm.

“I can travel anywhere in the Universe, faster than anything.” She proudly proclaimed.

Zilan remained silent for some time. Her ability was indeed insane but he was also somewhat disappointed. Anyone else would be jumping for joy upon hearing Beina’s ability however, Zilan, this prodigal youth was unsatisfied.

“Is that all?” He had to ask.

Dear Readers. Scrapers have recently been devasting our views. At this rate, the site (creativenovels .com) might...let's just hope it doesn't come to that. If you are reading on a scraper site. Please don't.

“No. I can also shut down the functioning of all Voids within an area and Beina can trap someone inside of their void and also I can control their void to destroy itself or remove everything its carrying. That’s all I found in my memories…..sorry.”

Zilan’s body froze. Every ability she had just spoken of should be impossible. This wasn’t just going against the Heavens Will, this was going against the Will of the Universe.

‘Just where is this girl from?’ His heart was restless.

“In my memories there’s something about evolution and variants but it’s not complete. It does say though that I can grow stronger and have even more abilities if Master continues to advance through levels.”

Hihi’s blood ran cold, ‘You’re already too devilish. What the hell do you mean by further evolution?’

Zilan was also starting to feel a certain type of way. As the Master, how could the subordinate outshine him? He was now beginning to understand why she decided to send him to Origin despite knowing the risk.

After that the conversation died down and Zilan retired for the night.

…………………..

The next day started early. Zilan did not leave his chamber as he wanted to finish up on something before heading down.

Back when the Ranking tournament was taking place, he had used a special technique to fend off the attacks of Nyoka however, that technique was incomplete and he had yet to reach a level where he could fully develop it.

Now that he was in the soul-compression stage though, many things became easier.

He stood up and began a series of extremely slow, rhythmic movements that appeared exceptionally strange. As he continued though, the air around began morphing and an ancient atmosphere permeated the chamber.

Zilan’s movements became quicker and quicker and as a result the ancient aura grew thicker and thicker. It reached a point that his bones began creaking and his blood vessels expanded.

It was at this time that a single, lanky wave of energy entered his body. This wave appeared unassuming but to someone like Hihi that wave of energy was extremely special.

“You…you’re trying to fuse two concepts of the Universe.” Hihi exclaimed.

Zilan had mostly comprehended the [concept] of softness but to him, this accomplishment in the grand scheme of things was simply put, ordinary. There was a reason concepts remained concepts, they possessed a limitation that could not break through the barrier that was [Laws]. [Laws] affected everything, they could change the Universe if harnessed to perfection however, [concepts] went with the flow. They used the make-up of the Universe to make minute changes that could only be sustained temporarily. For example, the concept of softness when understood completely could allow one to deflect Heavenly techniques by shifting the make-up of the surrounding Universe or Space.

Naturally, there was a limit to the space that could be manipulated and there also existed a plethora of supreme abilities and techniques that could by-pass the concept of softness. How, you ask? Well that is because some Laws actually possess this concept within them. Granted, it’s not understood to its limit but it is a fact that some laws like, the Origin law of Water, possess the essence of the concept of softness.

That is why Zilan wanted to surpass the limit of the concept of softness. He wanted to create a new concept by fusing two well-known concepts that in reality did not go together.

To do this, he needed to resonate with the Universe first and draw out the essence of the other concept.

“This is….[Heavy as if Light].” Thought Hihi as he gaped. “Can his body handle it?”

What Hihi did not get was that although Zilan’s body strength came from his Dragon’s blood, his ability to resist/absorb pure energies came from the cells and constitution of the Scorched race. Exterior body strength that was Godly and unparalleled Universal energy affinity.

This was Zilan. This was the fruits of the [Path of Blood]. Unique, exceptional, bordering perfect.

Now, the only hurdle that remained was fusing [Softness] with [Heavy as if Light].

[Heavy as if Light] could be interpreted by its name. To lift something heavy as if it was light. It sounded simple but it really wasn’t. In many ways it surpassed Softness in the difficulty of its training however, this was for other people. For Zilan who already possessed the comprehension thanks to the Book of Path, the only obstacle was making sure he executed his theory perfectly.

If he succeeded, then in the future deflecting a Mountain that was thrown at him would be easy and at the same time the lifting of said Mountain would be as effortless as carrying a feather. How was this possible?

Well it required altering the make-up of the Universe in a very small, relative to the Universe, targeted area. For example, alter the thing that makes the materials that make up a mountain heavy and make them lighter for you, whilst making sure not to destabilise their composition. Of course, this altering was only temporary.

It was truly a fascinating concept and that it why Zilan wanted it. Needless to say, he would not be able to immediately move mountains as the range that he could alter the Universe’s make-up would understandably be, miniscule. He was just too weak right now to undertake large scale altering but learning it now when he was this weak was key, as comprehending it when he was powerful would be extremely difficult.
