Bk 2 Chapter 97 – Zilan’s body

————————————————————————————-

Enjoying the feeling of his body being free from the special suit, Zilan did not hesitate to dive into the large, deep pool of hot water.

“Ploop”

Calmly swimming to the bottom, a strange occurrence that caused his face to redden in ecstasy immediately occurred. The previously colourless water instantly turned blue, faintly rippling in a particular, distinct yet orderly rhythm.

Beneath the surface, Zilan’s appearance had completely changed. His body illuminated the entire pool, as numerous exquisite cyan scales covered his body. However, if one looked closely enough they would notice a line of emerald scales that stretched from his right shoulder all the way down to his left thigh. His face was also covered by scales but if one was paying any attention whatsoever, that would not be what caught their attention. In fact, the scales on his face were nothing compared to the fact that Zilan’s teeth were no longer that of a human, growing frightening fangs that would send fear into the hearts of any man. Apart from this though, there was also the pair of piercing blue reptilian eyes that he was currently using to examine his body.

His lips curled into a bitter smile as he thought about the issues with his current appearance. On one hand he was extremely satisfied with his transformation however on the other hand, he couldn’t help but feel inconvenienced.

“Every time I touch water, this happens. It doesn’t matter if its but a single drop or a large water body, as soon as I come into contact with it, I instantly transform.”

Of course, in normal circumstances Zilan was still able to control his transformation, easily changing between forms with only a simple thought. Unfortunately though, it was utterly impossible to stop his change once he touched water bringing him a generous supply of headaches. This was one of the main reasons, he covered up so thoroughly while carrying out his day to day activities.

When Hihi first saw his draconic body, he was overcome with joy however, just as fast, he sighed in disappointment, lamenting that, “If only you had a second wind attribute, all would be perfect.”

Needless to say, he was not going to mention to Hihi that in the future he would be able to achieve the previously impossible feat of artificially manufacturing a second attribute lest he miss that arrogant fellow’s shocked expression.

Looking at his ‘powered up body’, Zilan still found it hard to believe the benefits it brought him. Firstly, was the fact that despite his lacking cultivation, in this form he calculated that his strength was most likely equal to a soul-compression expert’s. Unfortunately, the unbreakable defensive prowess he’d hoped for since he descended from the Dragon clan was nowhere to be found. Don’t misunderstand, he still had an advantage against almost every species on this planet who was at his power level when it came to body strength however, according to Hihi each Spring Dragon would inherit different Divine bodies depending on their bloodline because usually it was not very pure.

Zilan could be considered a rarity or an abnormality among Spring Dragons since usually pure bred Spring Dragons were always female and as adults their bodies were unanimously considered the most powerful among all of the Dragon clans.

Zilan clearly had pure blood, was male and also lacked the perverse physical body the Spring Dragons were renowned for. When he confronted Hihi about why he was different, Hihi simply sighed pointing out that the fact that he only had the water attribute and not a combination of both the wind and water attributes was the reason he was so different.

Naturally, this did not mean that his body was just that, as once he was immersed in water no matter the size, he had come to notice that his healing ability had become the stuff of legends. As long as he sprayed some water on a wound, it would slowly fade away like it had never existed startling him to no small extent.

Even crazier was the fact that his ‘new’ form came with two innate abilities that were just as useful as his healing factor.

………..

Zilan leisurely relaxed in the gigantic pool for a few hours. With his ability to breathe underwater, he could stay in there for as long as he wanted. Too bad that was not going to happen.

Outside the bath chamber, loud giggling sounds could be heard. The high pitched voices made it clear that the approaching individuals were female, shocking Zilan as he had no clue when he invited so many people to his home.

“Could it be Kifo?” This thought was quickly dismissed as within the pile of laughing girls Zilan could hear the unbridled sound of someone he knew very well.

“Come on, stop it!” Screamed one of the girls as she playfully slapped Fujo’s creeping hand away.

“Eh…don’t worry, this Junior will make sure to take gooood~ care of my beautiful Senior’s.” teased Fujo.

Hearing all this from within the bathroom, Zilan couldn’t help but frown.

“Have you forgotten whose home this is? Hmph! Fine, I’ll let this slide just this once but after you’re done with your business, I expect an expalanat…Ahhh!”

Just as he was busy reprimanding Fujo in his heart, Zilan was caught off guard yet again by his actions.

“Girls, how about you help this brother wash his back first then later I’ll do the same and extra…” laughed Fujo as he confidently pushed open the doors to Zilan’s private bathroom.

Enough was enough!

Without waiting to notify Fujo of his presence, Zilan unhesitatingly swung his hands sending a large jet of water flying towards the unsuspecting Fujo.

“Bang!”

Unsurprisingly, he was blasted into a wall on the opposite side still confused as to what had happened.

A timely gust of wind flying by him accompanied by a familiar cold snort effectively solved this problem, leaving him slightly ashamed of his actions. Fortunately, looking at the caring and worried expressions of the beautiful seniors beside him quickly cheered him up as he happily led them into the now unoccupied bath chamber.

Halting his steps, Zilan’s body turned distinct as he pondered on whether he should teach this idiot a lesson. In the end he could only shake his head as he continued towards his room at a speed that was equivalent to the wind itself.

The inside of his room was fairly simple. Aside from his bed, there was also a separate washroom in the corner, a wardrobe, a few bookshelves and finally a work desk that was placed close to the window so that he could enjoy the splendid view of the Purple Heart, Two Flames camp.

Naturally, this was just what normal people would see but if an experienced inscription master were to walk into the room, he/she would be shocked out of their bodies by the sheer amount and quality of the defensive inscriptions laid around the room.

It did not take too long for Zilan to dry himself but as soon as he was about to put his unique suit back on, the tattoo on his back began trembling.

“Hmm, you want to come out?”

Swishing sounds could be heard as the tattoo began swaying from side to side.

“Haha, fine.” Smiled Zilan.

Almost immediately after two gigantic pitch black wings that spanned at least twenty feet spread out, covering his room and quite frankly making it look small.

Due to the size of the wings, Zilan didn’t dare to move about lest he knock his stuff over however that did not mean the wings themselves would not move.

Flapping about, creating dangerous gusts of wind that if increased could tear down the door, the two black almost demonic wings seemed genuinely happy to be free.

The fact that it had a mind of its own initially caused him some fear but once he became closer to the wings Zilan grew more familiar and eventually, he developed a bond with them.

This, of course, did not mean that he was not suspicious of the wings. After all they looked nothing like the wings a Dragon would have. In fact, Zilan was pretty sure these wings existed long before he came into existence, he felt like his blood had somehow summoned them here, as if they were some sort of inheritance but the more he thought about this theory, the more he felt that it was far-fetched. But then again, he couldn’t think of a viable explanation and his ‘guide’ Hihi refused to speak on the matter before he went to sleep.

Just what were these wings and where exactly did they come from was something Zilan really wished to know thus you can imagine his surprise when even after he opened the scorched gates to look at them, only a single, incomprehensible line showed up.

“The wings of the void! From a place beyond sense, beyond time, lawless and ungoverned. A place that does not exist!”

Softly caressing his crow like wings, Zilan still smiled.

“Who cares anyway?”
