Peter sighed as he released the amulet. “ Very well, the only thing I can do is pardon her for her attack on me.”
Fitagron, as well as Koal, appeared beside the spirit formed dragon. “ She will never be welcome in any house after today. You do understand this correct?”
The spirit dragon nods to the real one. He then starts to fade away back into his own soul amulet. Peter turned to Draama and put a hand on his own amulet before fading away into it. Draama lowers Outlander. “ Go sister and never come back. You are no longer of the people of the Drakan.”
Draama turned away with a tear in her eye to Kel moving to her side as well as the old dragon judge. “ Her judgment is cast. The one known at Nelaait is no longer welcome in Drakan owned or shared lands and her legacy is forever banished.”
Peter’s voice overrode the old dragons. “ To cast blame on one for another’s sins is not the way of the Timeless Lance. If she bares young, and I feel she will, then they will be welcome back in our house. She will have to live with what she has done but there is always hope for future generations.”
The eye of souls suddenly went very dark. “ Spirit are you dying again?”
Peter laughed as he laid down. “ I am tired.”
Draama was not too sure about that but had no reason to doubt him. “ If you say so, Peter. What an odd name.”
Peter sighed as the judge looked over the two who represent the core of the winners. “ The house of Timeless Lance. Victors of these games. You now have the right to count yourself among the great houses of the Drakan. Among these rights, you are granted privileges accustomed to your new rank. Many later to be described to you. For now, as victors, you earned the games great prize. What is your wish for the houses you represent?”
Draama looked at Kel and smirked. “ My house needed nothing before these games and that has not changed. We grant this prize to Kel, our great master, who we would not be here this day if she did not represent us.”
Kel opened her jaws wide. To pass on the prize of the games was not something she expected, but not entirely surprised her either. Their house has a history of strange practices. Kel considered it as she noticed everyone had their eyes on her. Draama’s broad spirit talk had reached every corner of the coliseum. She doubted any of the dragon blood missed the announcement. “ Grand Elder Lol oldest and wisest of the dragons. You have spent your life watching the dragons. You among the few left had a senior you knew give birth to our brethren race. You among few know best how they live their lives. While I see the value of the house’s structure brings I do not agree on what they have become completely. Originally I wished in these games for the freedom of my own path instead of one my father chose for me. By winning I can say my strength is enough now to be on it. So I will not waste this prize on my own selfishness. Instead, I will grant it to those that truly deserve it.”
Kel paused to be sure as she looked back up to Draama, who was calmly supporting her without worry. “ The houses of the Timeless Lance, Broken Arrow, and Raging Moon. These three houses follow what it means to be a Drakan without prejudice of rank or gender or even money. They value strength, wisdom and being humble. With that said we only wish for us to say thank you for all those here and letting us enter the great games. Everyone from these houses saying that in one voice. When no one believed in us. When all even doubted we would even be a factor. We wish to say thank you. We are happy you treated us as equals in these games even if never believed we were. We say thank you and we will see you in the next games.”
Draama looked at Kel very pleased. It was not till that very moment that she did not realize the true belief of her house was nothing more than being humble. They did not want any great prize just recognition. Not even that. They wanted the right to be called the same. To be called a Drakan by the others of their people despite their lineage. And Kel to be called their great master.
After the closing ceremonies those of the injured in the tent of the Timeless Lance that could be moved were to their keep. Draama and Kel stayed behind to honor those left behind till they were well enough to be moved as well. As a night and half a day passed them for the last to be moved they heard of the large party being thrown without them and Kel left to get it under some control. As the last of the injured moved and their tent packed Draama looked out into the open Coliseum fairly sure she will not be here again. When she landed at her keep she heard the celebrating was still going on in full force. However there were three outside. The two siblings were feeding and cleaning their bound brother and did not notice Draama there till Jokon’s glance. Ronilda and Guinee backed away. “ Housemaster we did not think. I mean.”
Outlander materialized in her hand as she tapped it on the ground. “ Ronilda nurse made by choice and Guinee my captain of my iron guard. You were told to never let me catch you aiding this one.”
They both back away again slightly ashamed. “ Please spare them housemaster. Do what you will to me but spare them.”
Draama looked at Jokon slightly confused, not completely sure of what he just said. “ And why should I? You who wanted to rape me and then to cover it tried to kill your own brother. The one you are now asking mercy for.”
Jokon still had his head low but water started to drip from his chin. “ You have no reason to listen. Before I asked you to end this torture. Spare them and end this torture on them. They have committed no crime but love me. They should not be punished for that.”
Draama took Outlander off the ground and put the end of it to his neck. “ Very well.”
Guinee grabbed his sister to be sure she did not do anything to ensure a worse punishment. After a moment she cut the leather binding off of his wrist then the other and he fell body first hard on the ground. “ You have finally learned the lesson Jokon. We are not just a random group of strangers. We are a community and a family. They are willing to sacrifice to you everything and now you learned that you can do the same for them.”
Outlander vanished much like her spirit does. “ My father saw him as a farmer. He can not use a shovel or a hoe again for some time. So he will become a mentor. He will teach this lesson and all the others to all the future generations of my house. As well as general education as well.”
Draama turned from them toward the doors of her keep. “ Thank you housemaster.”
Draama paused. “ Jokon you may never have children from those in this house because of what you done and hiring a clutch mother is forbidden but if you find one to be with and have your offspring I hope you remember this day. Because you asked to join my house and today you are beginning to earn your keep. As your children will have to as well. If you let them come.”
Jokon bowed his head. “ Yes housemaster. I understand.”
Draama started moving forward without looking back. “ I hope you do. My house is not known for many second chances.”
