Chapter 984: Sneakily Do Something Big

Grasping the metal locator in her hands, Ye Jian hurried towards the Southwest corner at her fastest pace.

To ensure nothing goes wrong when rescuing K7, from China’s Yunnan province to this country that was plagued with internal strife, the Elite Platoon members had never stopped marching for 24 hours, crossing five provinces of this country and arrived in Helmand.

The families in Helmand all cultivated opium poppies and gained vast profit by smuggling them out the border. While almost all of the money was invested into the local rebel army, amongst those, there was a percentage given to the ST Mercenary Army. In Helmand and Registan, the ST Mercenary Army had almost become the umbrella of some commoners and government officials, but they had also become the nightmares of the poor folk.

Only stopping in Helmand for two hours, T6 of the Elite Platoon gained information with his fluent Farsi and was informed that the ST Mercenary Army locked up the ‘criminals’ and rebellious commoners in the Southwest corner. The place where they executed people was also in the Southwest corner.

Now, all that Ye Jian needed to do was one thing, pass on the metal locator to K7!

Then V8 and the others would plan their rescue operation according to K7’s location, while Xia Jinyuan and Ye Jia would act individually, creating an explosion in ST. Creating a distraction as a cover for Ye Jian to recover the ‘name list,’ then covering Pigeon as the five of them rescued K7.

They would not start a gunfight with the ST Mercenary Army. Having a gunfight in enemy territory, unless their brains have rotted to the point they think they were invincible, only then would they do something like that.

To explain eloquently, the operation this time is mainly to ‘fish in muddy waters’ at first, then ‘advance secretly’ as their retreat route, and successfully rescue K7 out.

In G3’s coarser words, then it’ll be: sneakily do something big!

All of the buildings in ST headquarters were made from a mix of loam sand, clay, and gravel. Every place Ye Jian crawled on, large clumps of yellow dust would stick on her white mesh shirt, and if possible, she wanted to roll around in the mud, so her white clothes would turn yellow!

In the middle of the night, she wore a white mesh shirt that would flutter in the wind,… it’s too eye-catching!

“How’s the situation? Are there any signs of movement?” Ye Jian had infiltrated ST headquarters for 12 hours. The Elite Platoon had established communications; the teams in position were starting to exchange information with their comrades; they asked T6 who was closest to the ST headquarters.

Z7 had assembled a miniature short-ranged communications station an hour ago. Even though it was small, the signals it transmitted were stable; it was also able to send images and data through infrared scanning.

The metal locator’s data had long ago been downloaded into the laptop they had bought from the Helmand market. As long as Ye Jian finds K7 and turns on the tracker, they will immediately find out the precise location of K7.

Currently, there weren’t any electrical signals detected. Z7 spoke in a hushed voice: “Not yet, let’s see if Q king is up to something, he’s currently in radio silence and is temporarily unable to be contacted.”

Radio silence meant he had cut off all communications via radio waves. Xia Jinyuan was worried that ST headquarters had electrical jamming systems if their radio waves were captured… they will be exposed before their operation had even begun.

“You guys stay put, I’m going to check on the situation in the Southwest corner. She’s been inside for 12 hours, and the sun has gone down for four hours… from her efficiency, she had most likely discovered something.” T6 stopped keeping watch from his location; he slowly pulled himself out of the pile of sand. After a moment passed, he complained: “So cold.”

He buried himself in the sand, and his body was warm without the cold winds hitting it. The temperature difference between day and night was already quite huge. After he got out of the sand, the chill in the air sliced its way past his skin and probably dug itself into his bones.

The location of ST mercenary army’s headquarters was at a good spot. In front of them was a desert; behind them was a river flowing from the tall mountains and then further ahead was Registan’s desert.  Built atop a slope of gravel, the ST headquarters had a great vantage point for each side, the sentries stood atop the tall walls, and would be able to see anyone who comes and goes from underneath them.

Of course, that was only possible during the day.
