Chapter 139 Is that so

Wei Zhen Hui thought it was a nurse coming in on her rounds so he did not raise his head. His gaze continued to focus on the book.

In the backlight, Su Mian saw his facial features were even more resolute, darker, and thinner. Most of his body could not move and he was completely supported on his right side.

He was injured in exactly the same area as in his previous life.

By the time he realised something was amiss, the figure at the door had already rushed over and jumped on him.

“Wei Zhen Hui, how are you still injured?” Su Mian had long lost her calm composure and disregarding everything else, she lay on him and burst into tears.

Wei Zhen Hui dropped the book in his hand and looked at the girl wailing in his arms. His depressed mood from living in the hospital was swept away and his left hand that was hanging in midair dropped gently on top of her head.

He had never coaxed a girl before, so he did not know what to say at this moment.

Fortunately, after crying for a while, Su Mian finally raised her head, “Why did you not wear the bulletproof vest? What am I supposed to do if you die?” Su Mian vented and slapped him on the chest a few times.

Wei Zhen Hui raised his brows then relaxed them. His left hand grabbed her restless little hand, “Su Mian, it was a critical moment. Wu Feng is the vanguard. If I had not given him the bulletproof vest, he would be sacrificed. You do not know, they took out more than a dozen bullets from the bulletproof vest afterwards, all of them aimed at vital areas. Su Mian, we saved Wu Feng’s life.” Wei Zhen Hui spoke the truth. In that kind of situation, if Wu Feng did not have the bulletproof vest, it was likely that he would never have come back.

Is that so?

In her previous life, Su Mian had never met Wu Feng. Could it have been that Wu Feng had died in this battle? Her guess was probably correct. Based on his relationship with Wei Zhen Hui, it would have been impossible for Su Mian to have never seen him if he had been alive.

In her previous life, Wei Zhen Hui’s instructor had indeed been another person.

Being able to save Wu Feng, Su Mian finally felt a bit better.

“How is your injury? Does it hurt?” Su Mian asked in concern, pulling him to see his wound.

A smile appeared on the corner of Wei Zhen Hui’s mouth and he curled his left hand around Su Mian, pulling her into his arms. “It doesn’t hurt now that I can see my wife!”

Su Mian was amused by him. He seemed to be such a serious person on the surface and no one could tell that he turned out to be such an unserious person underneath. “Hmph, if you dare get hurt like this again in the future, I won’t come to see you!” Su Mian was still angry that Wei Zhen Hui did not cherish his own life.

“I still haven’t asked you, why did you come here? Could it be that you knew that I was injured?” As a soldier, Wei Zhen Hui was meticulous in observation. He did not think that Su Mian had just happened to come and see him. It was a stressful period in school right now and she should be on vacation at home this week.

Su Mian drew a circle on his chest with her finger, “I really can’t hide anything from you. I could see that you wrote with your left hand! My name was written in such an ugly manner!”

He was being disdained!

Wei Zhen Hui was amused by her aggrieved appearance and laughed dully. His laugh affected his wound, “Cough cough!”

Su Mian stood up quickly out of anxiety, worry in her clear eyes, “What’s wrong? Where does it hurt? Did I hurt you?”

Wei Zhen Hui was in a happy mood, but his face did not show this. He covered his wound and pretended to be suffering, “Wife, it hurts!”

“Then what to do?” Su Mian was also at a loss. Although she was a doctor, pain from wounds were normal physiological responses.

Wei Zhen Hui leaned over and pulled Su Mian over, quickly whispering in her ears, “Why don’t you kiss me?” After saying this, he saw Su Mian was frozen so he licked her ear.
