Chapter 493: Only Saving Oneself Is Life-Saving

Pabell was a volunteer teacher at this school, so Q3 and K7 had already headed towards it. If something was amiss there, they should more or less notice it.

The two other places were being monitored by soldiers deployed by the Pakistani Military. If they noticed something out of the norm, they would carry out their rescue operation.

After the Army’s Major General ended the phone call, he immediately relayed Xia Jinyuan’s words to the head leader. The time was already 5:30 in the afternoon. Ye Jian, who was brought out of the Presidential Palace, committed to memory the time she was brought into the car and then estimated that it had been around two and a half hours since then.

She believed that Captain Xia and the others had more or less determined Pabell’s identity, but Ye Jian wasn’t confident if they knew where her current location was.

It was tranquil there. While Petty and she were locked in a room that was filled with the smell of curry and of meat, she deduced that this was probably a storeroom behind a kitchen. It was too dark. If it wasn’t for her counting the time, she would have mistakenly thought that night had already fallen.

Both her arms and legs were tied. For Ye Jian, having her hands tied behind her back wasn’t anything. She felt around the string with her hands, and slowly, an image of what the knot looked like appeared in her head as well as what she should do to unbind herself as fast as possible.

Ye Jian, who had her eyes closed, did not speak with Petty. Only once she had broken free of her bindings did she whisper, “Ms. Petty, don’t be afraid. You should sit down and rest for a while. I’m going to need to check out the window and see where we are.”

Her right hand gently caressed the silver wire wrapped around her left arm… She was searched by them and was very glad that she had left her handgun as a warning. If they had found a pistol on her, she was going to raise their awareness of her.

They even confiscated her watch, but they did not seize the silver wire on her left arm… They probably assumed that it was just a silver bracelet.

Ms. Petty hadn’t realized that Ye Jian had already stood up. When she spoke, her tone carried a slight tremble. “Jian, we’ve been kidnapped by Teacher Pabell. I think she is very likely an Al Qaeda member.”

Stretching her arms, Ye Jian gently hugged her. She smiled: “It’s okay, Miss Petty, nothing will happen to us. Trust me. Now, I must go up and check out our surroundings…”

Before she had finished her sentence, the sounds of footsteps echoed from outside. Ye Jian immediately let go of Petty and quickly picked up the rope that she had tossed onto the floor. She tied the knot with her hands behind her back.
