The first class passed as usual and the Chinese Teacher walked into the classroom, face so tired and haggard that even Wei Min who was usually unconcerned noticed it.
“What happened to the Chinese Teacher recently? I feel like something is not right!”
Su Mian nodded. There was indeed something wrong. Normally, people would not be this tired and looking closely, her eyes were even bloodshot. This was obviously the result of staying up late.
In her previous life, the Chinese Teacher had a good relationship with her husband and their two children were obedient. Her grandmother and relatives were all in the countryside and it seemed like nothing bothered her. Su Mian asked the Chinese Teacher for permission to leave and went to the reception office. The phone was antique and was black with numbers in a circle in the middle.
After Su Mian answered the phone, she knew the cause of the Chinese Teacher’s recent haggard state.
The phone call was from Dean Li. He asked Su Mian when she would have time to help the daughter of the Chinese Teacher. She had been sick for over a month and many hospitals could not find the reason. Dean Li felt that Su Mian had very good medical skills, so he wanted her to help.
Dean Li began to be afraid that Su Mian would not agree. After all, Su Mian had not wanted to disclose her miracle doctor status to the rest of the world. Last time, it was also Dean Li who had begged her to help perform an operation on the algebra teacher. Dean Li was embarrassed to trouble Su Mian again, however, the Chinese Teacher’s daughter’s condition was indeed getting more and more serious and could not be delayed any longer.

After hanging up the phone and thanking Dean Li, Su Mian walked to the classroom in melancholy.
No wonder the Chinese Teacher had been in this state recently. These days, she and her husband had taken their daughter everywhere to seek medical treatment. They had been all over the cities in the province and no one had been able to find out the reason for her daughter’s illness. The couple had been worried about their daughter and went to many hospitals, eating and sleeping away from home. They had not slept well for days.
This was the first time after being reborn that Su Mian felt how important it was to study medicine. At least, she could do her best to help people in need.
Su Mian sat down in a daze.
“What, you went crazy after receiving a call, was it from my brother?” Wei Min leant over and asked Su Mian in a quiet voice. There were not many phone calls in this era. To be able to receive a phone call, you would be envied by classmates for quite a few days. Wei Min thought it was her brother, Wei Zhen Hui, who called.
Su Mian returned to her senses, “It wasn’t from Wei Zhen Hui.” Su Mian did not plan on telling Wei Min about the Chinese Teacher’s daughter’s illness, in case the girl thought too much about it.
Seeing that Su Mian did not speak, Wei Min pursed her mouth and was deliberately unhappy, “Huh, so mysterious, you won’t even tell me. Is it because my brother forbade you from telling me?”
Su Mian was amused by her appearance. This girl really thought that it was Wei Zhen Hui who called her, “Yes, your brother told me to supervise your studies!”
