As we prepared for our journey before the sunrise, I couldn’t help but ask the captain about the infamous Queen of the Cursed Mountains. He replied with a mysterious tone, telling me that she had been alive for over 600 years. We had encountered her during the War of Krona, where she had helped us defeat the enemy with her intelligence and knowledge of the king’s ancestors. She was a member of the Time Table, a group known for their superior knowledge of suffering monsters. The captain informed me that she could only be found in the Cursed Mountains, and for the past 108 years, no one had seen her.
I couldn’t help but wonder if she was still alive. The captain’s response was that we would have to find out for ourselves. Contacting the Time Table was nearly impossible due to the mysterious aura surrounding them. Even if we did manage to contact them, it would take time for them to come to our aid. The teleportation circle within our kingdom was working perfectly, but outside of our borders, it seemed to be malfunctioning. The people within the kingdom were unaware of this, but the outside world was surely aware. And to make matters worse, we were unable to contact anyone outside of our kingdom during this time.
I suggested using the teleportation circle to reach the Cursed Mountains, but the captain informed me that it wouldn’t work within a 200km radius of the mountains. He explained that the monsters in the area had the ability to control teleportation, making it dangerous for us to use. It was a forbidden ancient magic, and anyone who attempted to use it would vanish and reappear in a different location. I couldn’t help but find it all very intriguing.
As we reached the village of Tide, guarded by the spirit god Shikari, we went to the nearby guild to gather information about any recent attacks by suffering monsters. We learned that some monsters had appeared in human form in the Shikari forest, opposite the Cursed Mountains. However, they had suddenly disappeared without a trace.
We decided to rest at an inn until morning, as it was too dangerous to travel through the mountains at night. The next day, we set off towards the Cursed Mountains, encountering treacherous paths and many suffering monsters along the way. The villagers had warned us about the cursed mountains, where the suffering monsters were too powerful for anyone to defeat. It was said that the queen controlled these monsters, and they were isolated from the rest of the world.
As we approached the old palace, we were surrounded by dark smoke. Suddenly, a massive hydra-like suffering appeared before us. It was impossible to believe that such a creature had been killed during the Great War. And to our surprise, there was a man sitting atop the suffering, controlling it.
