Chapter 11- something right, something wrong

Peter would have liked to have seen the show that the two of them were putting on, but after some time waiting, the darkness and muteness wasn’t subsiding.

He then sighed and decided to explore the options and menus of the amulet. He discovered several features including a fast action bar, a more detailed informational list, and an experience review chart.

He just got done equipping his new skill when he noticed that he had access to it, when the darkness lifted and he was facing an up close breast of Naleeit’s. It didn’t last, as Dramix got out of the bed that was obviously hers and stood at the door and looked back.

“Did you make a commitment to her?” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)

Dramix picked up the amulet to look at it.

“Yes.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)

Peter became as stern as he could.

“Then I will see to it that you uphold it, or you won’t receive any more aid from me.” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)

Peter saw Dramix chuckle.

“I was with her not because I want a clutch of children, but because I found her attractive. She has strength that I could never have. A shame she can never see it to her full potential.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)

Dramix gently put the amulet back against his chest.

“And why not?” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)

Dramix sighed.

“She would need another Drakan’s help.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)

“Why can’t you do that then?” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)

Dramix became surprised. He didn’t really consider it that he could help.

“It’s true that I could help her, but only to a certain point. Even then, the other Drakans will knock her down over and over.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)

Peter considered that.

“Could you be her pillar of strength to draw on? Could you support her should she falter?” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)

Dramix considered what he just said.

“I don’t know.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)

Peter sighed.

“Then I don’t know if it’s worth having your fate tied with hers. Until you can answer my question without hesitation, prove to yourself that you really want her. Maybe then, you will be worthy of the happiness you want with her.” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)

Dramix pondered that too.

While pondering such a thing, he turned around to look at her, then he headed back to the bar. He didn’t want anything strong, only enough to quench his thirst. He found the brother guards there having a quiet drink with themselves.

“You had to do it! You couldn’t be satisfied with my liege’s confidence! You had to take the lady’s innocence as well!” (Nalort)

Dramix went behind the bar and found a jug of beer and opened it. He drank some before setting it down.

“Brother, you’re going too far!” (Torlan)

Dramix took another drink of the jug before looking at the two.

“I’m forcing nothing upon them except what is due to me. I’m giving to them what the world owes them from me. I can see the blithe and pain they described. I am no stranger to hardship. If I walk this path and aid them, then so be it. I will soon be leaving here to the former capital with Naleeit as my guide. They may recognize her, so I will be going in there alone.” (Dramix)

The two opened their mouths wide in surprise slightly.

“What will you be doing there then?” (Nalort)

Peter sensed something, and Dramix did as well. He finished off the jug of beer before setting it down.

“Scouting, and learning about their current members and supplies. As well as a few other things as well. We went over this the other day. Remember?” (Dramix)

Dramix stood up and went to the weapon’s rack and grabbed a spear.

“I’ll take watch.” (Dramix)

The two brothers immediately stood up in unison.

“No!” (Torlan and Nalort)

Dear Readers. Scrapers have recently been devasting our views. At this rate, the site (creativenovels .com) might...let's just hope it doesn't come to that. If you are reading on a scraper site. Please don't.

Dramix turned back toward them.

“We mean…. I’m on my break, and the prince is on guard for me.” (Nalort)

Dramix knew for a fact that that was a lie. Gulliver would never be on guard in the drunken stumper he was in. The fact that he also never took a morning shift….

“I’m feeling well enough to sit watching a hole of light for a few hours. Get some sleep.” (Dramix)

Dramix paused, almost passing under the balcony.

“We’re supposed to be getting a shipment today. I better wake up Naleeit.” (Dramix)

Dramix turned to the steps leading to the balcony, and stopped after taking the first step. The sliding of steel wasn’t missed by his ears, so he jumped back to avoid the thrown dagger. Dramix growled as the illusion broke and the two at the bar faded away into a single woman. She had an amulet on like Dramix’s.

Peter became a little worried after seeing that.

“How did you see through me you stupid lizard?!” (Woman)

Dramix took a ready stance with his spear. He could clearly see that he outmatched his opponent. The power of his amulet was greater according to the size, and hers was at least half faded.

She had a smile on her face though.

“I challenge you, spirit to spirit.” (Woman)

Instantly, Dramix straightened himself up.

“A what?” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)

Dramix sighed to himself.

“A direct challenge to me as a shaman. I could refuse and slay her, but I will never know who would be the better. This is something I will always think about.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)

Peter sighed.

“What will happen if you accept then?” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)

Dramix tightened his grip on his spear.

“You will take my place.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)

“Hurry up, you cold blooded ba****d!” (Woman)

Dramix growled.

“I’m considering it, you wh**e!” (Dramix)

There was a pause while Dramix was in thought.

“It’s your choice.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)

Dramix looked at the woman closely.

“She wouldn’t be doing this unless her spirit has been tested.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)

Peter sighed.

“Then there’s no better way for me to be tested. Let me be worthy of you, as you seem to be worthy of me.” (Peter’s Spirit Talking)

Dramix loosened his grip on his spear before speaking to the woman.

“I accept.” (Dramix’s Spirit Talking)

Several days ago, a woman followed a suspicious man with a load of supplies heading into the mountains. This wouldn’t be strange except this man was the uncle of the local produce merchant, who wasn’t any more than a freeloader after being discharged from the army over a decade ago due to losing his hearing in one side.

After finding the prince and accepting the payment, she decided on her plans for infiltration and subjugation with the aid of her spirit.
